I would like to see consistent damage option paths in Dragonflight

As a starter I understand some like being a melee fire mage where all your damage happens in wings, I really don’t. This is about having options to be more consistent, not taking away the burst play style.

With the introduction of the new talents this is a big opportunity to see some old styles of play come back. Ever since legion I’ve been disenchanted with the design of ret. I really enjoyed WOD and wrath ret a lot. WOD had the fun interaction of what is now empyrean power procs and old final verdict which increased the damage of divine storm. It also had some seal gameplay as an option which was fun. Wrath ret I also enjoyed especially with the ICC tier set for resetting divine storm also being more cd management than generate and spend.

I feel ret right now feels lacking (to me personally) because all abilities except spenders feel TERRIBLE to use. In wrath your other abilities hit decently hard because everything wasn’t about funneling holy power towards spenders. In retail currently each expansion since legion, generators have felt worse and worse. At least in legion we had divine hammer for aoe outside of divine storm. Consecration is a completely garbage spell currently with tuning and doesn’t even generate holy power.

I would really like to see some capstone talents that make consistent damage better or even super unique things like remove holy power ties and go back to seals and cd management, like making divine storm a cd but hit much harder. Classical Teachings or something like that. Monk has a pvp talent that makes some abilities work like they did in wod and earler, I would like to see things like that on ret.

TLDR: please give some consistent damage options especially in aoe and make generators not feel like abysmal wet noodles.

We definetly need less focus on Avenging wrath windows, and spread out the damage better between spenders and fillers, like when youre spender hits 20 times stronger than the builders, it makes everything but the spender feel like wasitng time, specially since they feel like they barely have any synergy other than giving you HP, we need them to be more interesting or the playstyle is gonna stay lacking between spenders and slow between wings.

totally agree, at least with fire mage they have ways to lower the cd of their burst window. BFA was sort of like this with ineffable truth but was rng so it didn’t feel quite as good.

I feel like legion hit a middle ground where at least the generators hit decently hard even if it was a downgrade from wod. I really enjoyed Zeal (the crusader strike cleave version) and divine hammer.

Old final verdict felt like the nice bit of interplay that the spec is missing right now as well.

That honestly one of the things i want them to add the most, interplay between abilities, in another post i used the example between CS and Frostbolt, they both hit very low, but frost bolt generates icicles, has a chance for flurry procs, and with necro it can cleave while regening 3 times the icicles, CS generates 1 HP.

Or rogues sinister strike on outlaw, this one does hit decently hard as a filler, but it also ahs a chance to hit twice, doing twice the dmdg generating twice the combo points, and has a chance to trigger a buffed pistol shot.

I want out abilities to do more than just being stand alone abilities that it seems a mob in the palguelands would have, just do dmg and regen an HP. Boj is the same execept it can reset its cd but it just gens 2.

This has been my plea the entire exp. Blizzard has to completely stop and remove divine toll seraphin final reckoning amd execution sentence. As I commented on the awful wowhead paladin wishlist for DF.
In order to increase our sustained damage and reduce the fire mage combust gameplay theese are my suggestions

-Divine purpose has to be baseline or at least very early on the class talen tree.
-Bring back the old empyrean power as a talent.
-Maybe*** bring back seals the important one is seal of vengeance with its holy damage dot.
-Remove the extra crit from avenging wrath.
-Replace BoJ (via talent I guess) with exorcism. More range, holy damage so it can scale up with mastery
-discourage crusader strike usage. Maybe by reducing hammer of wraths cd.

More controversial changes
-Reduce judgements cd
-Make consacration generate hp and bake the healing conduit into it. Some dungeon utility without having to spend our hp to heal others.
-Either bake healing hands into WoG or make selfless healer reduce the mana cost too.
-Make righteous veredict a solid option so the little minigame of spacing globals and keeping the buff comes back from legion.
