I would like to add a marriage system into wow

I’m not too familiar with other RPGs, but I know in games such as Skyrim, you have the option to marry NPCs. It would be a pretty beed concept to integrate into WoW.

You could only marry other players of your faction (or do a long questline that let’s you marry a member of an opposite faction). You could organize a wedding and get special QoL perks only availible to you and your boo.

One that pops into my mind is that your wedding ring could be used as a hearthstone, but instead of being set to a location, it would teleport you to the location of your spouse. You could also get free postage service when mailing things to your significant other.

Besides some basic cosmetic thing, it wouldnt affect anything else at all. Perhaps is someone inspected you, there would a little blurb that said “Married to ______.”

You could get some achievements such as “Complete 20 dungeons while in a group with your spouse,” or “win 10 rated arena matches with your spouse.” The meta achievement could award a battle pet or a mount!

It would be a pretty easy concept to integrate in the game, as well as give players freedom to express themselves. They could marry their homies, or a toon of the same gender (for personal expression, not trying to push any agendas), and cross races for some funny combos!

I would love to be able to marry my alts ingame so they can quest or dungeon together

After asking for special privileges for being “married”.

Yeah, I deal with this crap enough from IRL “married” people, only to see them get divorced 6 months later. No, you don’t deserve privileges for being “married”, no one cares.

I always kinda wished we could get special rings. Some that have little flavor text that range from “We’re bffs” to something more like a wedding ring.

Doesn’t need stats or anything. Just a little something you can wear if you want.

Ya no … (its a nice option I agree on) but people tend to ruin it I remember when ffxiv first added and if you were a kitty you ended up being harassed by a long long long list of people trying to get you to marry them

Just get MRP or TRP. If you put that your character is married/in a relationship, a little red heart will appear in the character’s tool tip.

If you want to roleplay you’re gonna have to roleplay without Blizzard there holding your hand. That said, it’d be cool to “marry” characters with a ring (like back in SWG) and get some perks from it.

Will this mean the person I marry take half my gold and assets after the inevitable divorce? If that’s the case, then it’s a hard pass from me.

You know 14 isn’t the 1st game that done it right (i’m disagreeing with it being added so not arguing) but on 14 I supported it before it was added and we were all begging for it to be added from another game so they finally did it the same thing happened on housing (sadly haven’t got my house yet )

Not until I can get my anime waifu body pillow into this game.

Keep romance in all it’s forms out of Warcraft. I dont want Player x NPC, Player x Player, NPC x NPC, or any other combination. Marriage as player systems (especially with perks) are just silly, and WoW has a history of telling terrible love stories which include a high chance or ruining the rest of a character’s story along with the bad romance.

This already happens in WoW, more often than you’d think.

yeah but I don’t even want to imagine how much worse it could get if it was essentially sanctioned via some sort of in game marriage system

Can your spouse get kidnapped and you have to try and save it? How about kids?

Also if they did a marriage thing ingame, they’d need to do a divorce thing ingame.

Or we could just kill our spouses. I hear that’s still a thing in some parts of the world.

We all know full well what they were referring to when they said ‘normal’. And it was totally not cool

I agree but if you are caught looking at some female dancing on the mail box, you automatically lose half your stuff and your significant other has 2 hours to clear out you bank and bank alts.

Does your significant other have its own faction bar? That alone would be another level of hell I don’t want to bother with in this game.

It should be considered legal to kill your spouse if you’ve been married for X number of years. I think many married couples would agree.

Yes unless you kill them. If you kill your spouse, then you stand to get a hefty life insurance policy.
