I’ve been out of the swing of things for a very long time. I was one of the top players in the world back in WotLK, but over time I’ve gotten pretty rusty (and maybe even a little bit lazy).
But even if I’m not trying to be the sweatiest player again, I still enjoy feeling like I’m at the very least pulling my weight. And it’s also a nice feeling to feel like you can carry other through content, as well.
Well, there are often so many variables going on in any given combat encounter, it’s hard to really get a feel for how you’re doing, even with a really informative DPS meter. Is my whole rotation wrong? Am I just losing focus when I’m on bosses, and just need to learn to stay cool under pressure? Or maybe I’m playing the character as well as I’m able, I strictly need to focus on getting better gear?
Those are all questions that could be answered by having a simple target-dummy somewhere in the world. Just make sure that it doesn’t raise your weapon skills, or reduce weapon durability (just to avoid exploiting for Caladboulder).
Just my two cents!
