Title. I love Cata so much, but I don’t want to slog through the classic zones again.

I don’t think BFA is the right choice for the current timeline. Catacylsm stuff typically gives better EXP and the storylines are more coherent/less spread out. You start a zone and finish it, not start in a capital and get sent over an entire map.

I might be wrong but I think Hyjal might require flying in a few places. It’s been awhile since I did the questline so I might be remembering wrong.
But there’s no reason to not let people start Vashj’ir at 10.
eh? The main stories of the BfA leveling zones are all pretty well self-contained.
Investigating the witches. Rooting out Zul’s betrayal. Helping the Sethrak and finding out about the seals. Discovering Ashvane’s plot. Blowing the crap out of a bunch of blood trolls. etc.

I think we are forced to BfA because of allied races. For some dumb reason Blizzard still thinks it’s cool to grind them out.

4 storylines contained in one zone compared to Cata’s single story line in a zone. You can argue the mission table zones are different but you don’t unlock those until 35(?).
Cataclysm, despite it’s age, handles questing far better (In my opinion). You also have a million different options compared to BFA locking you into that one zone for however many levels which eventually cracks open the whole Kul’Tiras storyline. It’s a mess there for new players.
The leveling experience of BfA is the most recent and polished. Legion would have been another good choice, except that it’s tied in pretty heavily with artifacts…which are obsolete.

Aren’t there more allied races out of Legion?
leveling to 50 takes just few hours, there’s no slog. You can also pick any classic zone, and those that were reworked with cata plays just like high level cata zones.
But they’re not the cata zones.
By the time you can actually get to the zones that were added with cataclysm, you’ll be able to do maybe one of them before moving on to DF.
WoD or DF woulf be the best places for newer players.
WoD literally needs to real explanation.
There’s an invasion. You gotta go stop it. No faction war.
DF will have to wait til next expansion to be made the new player experience.

Who unironically wants to play through the Cataclysm-added zones when they don’t have flying unlocked?
Not to mention that Cata is the best leveling choice to get rep for heritage gear.
My suggestion if they lack flying is to do Cata until exalted with your faction for heritage gear for base races then switch to WoD.
Cata for new players without flying would be worse than bfa.
They could make some arrangements to make it so you can fly earlier specifically in Cata zones while in time walking
