Guild banks in Classic.
Iād be okay with a few things like thatā¦And a barber shop.
Read my lipsā¦#NOCHANGES
But guild banks anonymize the hard work that is done by some guild members to supply their guild with gear, etc. (because letās be honest, who actually scrutinizes the guild bank long and thanks people for their contributions).
I donāt take the no changes people serious anymore. this game is going to be classic+, thereās already been various changes anyways. layering is one of them and also starting off in the patch where we did when classic launched is another change.
I would be okay with leaving things the way they are.
Your fangs are too big, canāt read your lips. So I guess you are for it! YAY! lol
Pretty certain layers were 500 parts cost savings, 1 part āchangesā to improve anything about the game / game-play experience.
⦠I donāt think you know what āread my lipsā means.
Youāll get your wish when a TBC server is made. Until thenā¦Vanilla means Vanilla.
Saving money has nothing to do with layering. Layering has everything to do with mitigating server population issues down the road. Blizzardās server infrastructure is all cloud-based. The same number of players are taking up space regardless of how many realms there are.
Every virtual machine they spin up on their host costs money. Thatās how ācloud computingā works on the computer science / billing level. Fewer servers = cheaper for Blizzard to host the game.
Yes, and the days of each āserverā or ārealmā being its own separate entity are long, long gone. Realms are only a virtual barrier. The same load is taken up whether layering is there or not. Theyāre either spread over dozens more ārealmsā or on layers on fewer realms. Again, same cost.
Ah guild banks⦠I canāt wait for classic- tbc either!
When it was first introduced I did as both GM of my own guild and an officer in another. Nowadays itsā¦not much. Retail has just lost touch with each other unless youāre some tight knit thing. lol
I donāt want them just because I donāt want big guilds to have an exponential advantage like they do in retail. Attracting people with perks like stocked guild banks with guild access is what helps mega-guilds stomp out smaller guilds.
If youāre feeling extremely bored one day, take a few minutes and look into the pricing schemes of various enterprise cloud services.
Thank you all for your comments. Iām coming from the perspective of a VERY small guild, our founding 10 plus maybe 1/2 a dozen. We are tight knit. Iāve been running with this group since BC and some of them have known each other since childhood.
For me, one of the two guild alchemists, a guild bank would be right up there with chocolate. I have an herb bag in my bank which holds my 20 stacks and I have a second herb bag which I carry with me and collect into. When both bags are full I make my potions for the guild. It only takes maybe 2 or 3 nights to fill up both bags (for me anyway).
So, rather than making up my list of potions and popping them into the guild bank, where folks can take what they want/need and where I can see what is in demand so that I know what to go out and pick, I have instead created an Excel spreadsheet of what character/class requires which potions and then mail them ⦠individually ⦠to everyone.
Now - let me say I get the NO CHANGE. I do. I stopped playing a couple of years ago. I didnāt finish Legions and I never played anything in Battle for Azeroth - but I came back for Classic and I AM LOVING IT. I get it!
Still, for my small circumstances - a guild bank would be a wonderful thing.
/shrug
Instant ingame mail arrival is one of the major things I am missing in Classic
I collected guild sigs on day two of playing classic to form this guild for a friend. This was going to be her guild bank until we realized it wasnāt a thing. (We both started in BC era.) Now I get to play guildmaster which was never my intention, but I donāt want to give up the guild name!
