I wonder what the design decision was to have all big Survival abilities be basically the same

Flanking Strike - You and your pet jump to the target and do damage + some other stuff

Coordinated Assault - You and your pet jump to the target and do damage + some other stuff

Spearhead - You and your pet jump to the target and do damage + some other stuff

I dunno, seems a little weird? Eh, whatevs, I guess. Still, if Survival is the ‘You and your pet jump to the target’ spec it seems strange that Harpoon leaves our pet behind. :person_shrugging: Like, the pet doesn’t need to damage with Harpoon but shouldn’t it at least come with?

Edit: If the pet is out of combat. I could see leaving the pet fighting one target while harpooning to another.

I hear you and agree. We should give hunter pets harpoons, it’s only fair.

It’s actually really nice imo, if I Harpoon and get knocked back, Flanking Strike right back onto the target. If I somehow get seperated again, Coordinated Assault.

All of our major DPS cooldowns are around 1 minute long, so you play around those for massive damage basically. Use them as much as you can.

Explosive shot whenever it’s avaliable.

Also spam Kill Command, as it increases the damage of your next ability and it stacks, and it’s your focus-generator.

You also want your pet nearby you, for the improved passive that increases our survivability.

We’re different from BM in that we want our pets closely by our side most of the time. Or just follow them if you send them to attack something.

BM was my main spec forever, but I’ve gotten so bored with it, I’m basically a Survival main as of TWW lol. Always played it since Legion rework.

Anyways, we’re super-sticky targets in PvP, trying to get away from us is annoying lol.

We have 3 gap-closers and 2 of them are on a 20-second cd, in addition to Aspect of the Eagle.

Blizzard thoughts in a nutshell:

Blizz: okay so what’s the next class to add?
Blizz: so how can we design the class using very little effort using assets we already have?
blizz: So basically we can remove abilities from one class to give it to the new class?
blizz: now let’s nerf every class and buff the new class so we can say everyone loves playing the new class to the investors

if they don’t want to give the pet a harpoon they can give them a machine gun instead
Boar Lee saying “no hard feelings eh’” and lighting up the whole raid
