I wonder what percentage of WoW players got fully vaccinated?

So biology is almost considered a soft science because they still get so much wrong, if it wasn’t we’d have a cure for cancer.

It’s also not set in stone because you still have organisms that defy these rules. Snails are hemaphrodites which is a condition that humans can have as well, starfish can asexually reproduce.

Did you know there is a condition that some women have where they have male chromosomes and a microscopic male reproductive set.

I’m sorry but you don’t actually understand the science if you think the science is settled

Maybe google polio and/or the March of Dimes.

I’ve had both shots, sadly I didn’t become magnetic although I was really hoping for that.

Perhaps what they should say if after a certain date, if you haven’t been vaccinated then don’t go to the hospital should you get it.

On a lighter note: If I had kids I wouldn’t vaccinate them. I would take them to a medical professional to have it done. Also as an added bonus, I’m not the one sticking the needle in their arm.

What really needs to happen is that everybody should worry more about themselves and less about other people.

My body, my choice right? Or is that only for certain soapboxes? Like most every other slogan that has gotten waved around for the last 5-10 years.

Meanwhile, I just read about a fit 42 year old body builder and mountain climber from the UK who just got delta and died. Perfectly healthy with no comorbidities. Dead in like 5 days from the onset of symptoms.

Valid arguments to be weighed. An older gentlemen who lived directly across the street from me chose as your mother. He was 86 and not all that healthy.

There are so many unkowns about the vaccine that for now I have chosen not to take it. Once approved, that may change. Certainly as I get older I will take it.

BTW, I fully antcipate getting the rona eventually. It is not going away. I just do not fear it at all. At this stage of my life to get the vaccine would be to protect others who for whatever reason cannot get the vaccine and are in danger. I am just not sure how many of those are out there.

Honestly think the whole debate is silly, most sensible people will take it.

If others chose to believe we’re in the Resident Evil timeline and that the vaccine is a timebomb or some crap, so what?

Nature will always sort itself out anyway.

Meanwhile I just read about a 25 year old who just got the shots and died. Another who just had her legs amputated and will lose her hands next.

You’ll always have outliers to every rule, I think everybody knows this. These are regarded as anomalies. This does not change the fact that it’s pretty consistently the case more than 99% of the time.

This idea of “Oh, I found one exception of millions, time to change the rule!” is preposterously unscientific.

You’re right, it is the law and I would never get in a car without mine. I used mine since the day they came out. Before that, I drove around not thinking about any danger… also riding asleep laying down in the seat, riding in the back of a pickup truck. But since you know the law, I’m sure you NEVER speed, right? And I certainly hope you never text while driving. Those idiots are more dangerous than any unvaccinated person.

There will be outliers in every experience. The numbers of deaths with underlying issues far outweigh those without.

Oh woah, you found an outlier case. Now do you want me to bring the outliers that actually died FROM THE VACCINE and complications it caused?

If you want to argue using outliers now as if that changes ANYTHING that’s on you, but most people aren’t stupid enough to ignore the pretty consistent trends in favor of a handful of outlier examples that happen everywhere.

There’s people who get shot everyday, who die in car crashes everyday, who have strokes everyday, who choke on food every day. And so on and so forth.

If you refuse to do something on the oddchance you might die from it, i guess weather you get the vaccine or not is a non-factor since you’ll live in your own bunker eating pudding.

Okay right now you’re straight up just disagreeing with the scientific consensus

Ironically the only articles I can find regarding vaccines and amputations are related to being unvaccinated. Please share the link.

Imagine arguing using outlier examples, then telling someone who acknowledges “you have outliers to every rule but this is pretty consistently the trend normally” and saying they’re the ones disagreeing with scientific concensus.

Just, startling levels of dumb.

I’m older and retired. I don’t leave the house much. I finally got the shots because they give them at the local supermarket. Though my boyfriend was out of it for a couple of days, the only side effect I experienced was a sore spot on my arm that was only noticeable when I rolled over on that side in bed.

This is a disease that people on the right who fancy themselves demagogues are using to score political points. But a disproportionate failure of their followers to get vaccinated will make a statistically significant impact on the size of their own voting pool. People on fark are calling this “The Freedumb Flu”. Disregard actual scientific evidence at your own risk.

Exactly my point. Just pointing to one example is not enough. I understand how ones personal experience can color their perception of reality, but there’s plenty of data out there that says it’s a bit more serious than just the flu or a common cold. It’s true that 80% will be mild, moderate or asymptomatic. But 20% of the population is a significant chunk and those figures were before delta. It’s probably worse now. At least for the unvaccinated.

Also, to be fair, it’s probably not as important for those who have already contracted it, despite recommendations from CDC. In general, previous infections will be more protected than someone who has never been infected, or vaccinated, based on what I’ve read. It’s still a gamble (moreso than those receiving vaccinations), but not much given the context.

You’ve been conditioned to think you need it all the time, same as I have. How many accidents have you had? Of those, how many of them would have caused you serious injury without a seatbelt?

If I remember correctly the big push to create seatbelt laws came around in the early 90’s. Back then(I was driving and had been for awhile) you didn’t hear many stories of people being ejected and dying but I am certain it happened. And the shear amount of people driving now versus then would make an interesting study into the percentage of deaths that were caused by not wearing one, I am of the mind that the percentage would be roughly the same now as it was before those laws came into affect.

I got it since I have immunization problems as it is. Seeing as I have not turned into and eldritch horror like the legends say I would say the vaccine is fine.

Imagine telling someone who admits they are pro vaccine to stop typing because they said something you disagreed with which was to be cautious about the vaccine.

That is quite literally the most neutral opinion in this entire thread free of any bias, and here you are telling them “they’re part of the problem” because they have concerns that they’re outlining.

You’re just as bad as the subreddit moderators who outright ban anybody who says “I got the vaccine but I’m having problems like missing my period for two months now.” because “harmful misinformation.”
