I wonder what percentage of WoW players got fully vaccinated?

The truth will come out eventually.

I honestly worry more about MRSA than I do about Covid as far as being a terminal medical problem, I think weā€™ll outrun Covid but there will be much misery before we can resolve biological (EDIT: I meant bacterial) antibiotic resistance. My mom saw staph when it first entered into the hospitals, said that they were all shocked when a 12 year old girl bumped her knee and died. Those are some of the oldest organisms on the planet, weā€™re more the young up and comers.

Best of luck to you. I had a friend that caught MRSA from a popped blood blister, it sucks. Treatments improve, hopefully theyā€™ll find one to suit your circumstance.

Thanks, all I can do is maintain hope.
There is some promising research going on, but research is slow (unless there is a need on a global level, as weā€™ve seen).
Iā€™m on lifelong antibiotics, but those canā€™t ā€œcureā€ anything, because the infection is embedded in an implanted mesh, and after 9 surgeries, theyā€™re not willing to operate any further.
The last time they took me off the base antibiotic, I was septic in under a week.
When I get secondary infections, which is often, they have to play a game of ā€œbalance the antibioticsā€.
Itā€™s scary to think that it could get to the point where the antis justā€¦ stop working. :pensive:
Iā€™ve spent a lot of time learning about my bug buddy, and need to know at least as much about it as the people who are treating meā€¦ because unless theyā€™re an infectious disease specialist, itā€™s just not something which is in the spectrum of their training.
Iā€™ve spent a lot of time over the years helping with training newbie ID specialists and students, and hope that they can use some of the stuff theyā€™ve learned from me, to help other patients.

Oh I do apologize that my antics raised such a personal matter for you,

But I am so frustrated with the vaccination debate, see there used to be just 5 topics you were never allowed to talk about,

Politics, religion, abortion and euthanasia, and matters of sexuality, those were the big 5 that started arguments that you knew you really needed to keep your mouth shut on,

Though now we can add 6 to the list, and add the vaccine debate to one of those taboo topics, just make your choice on whether to take the vaccine or not, but shut up and keep it to yourself, but I can guarantee you that if you take vaccine, half of your friends are going to think you are nothing but a dumb sheep that does whatever governments tell you to do, but if you donā€™t take the vaccine, half your friends are going to hate you for spreading around the virus, they will think you are a delusional nutter, anti-science, crazy off the planet conspiracy theorist, that kind of thing.

So the reality is no matter what side you pick, or no matter who wins, we all lose, all I know is that Iā€™m not a doctor or a scientist, so I am going to stop talking about this topic now.

Iā€™ve seen a lot of activity by the FDA along those lines, changes to guidances and weā€™ve seen a whole lot of changes to improve things in the hospitals. A time is coming, we already have VRSA but they are working to find a solution itā€™s just going to need to be a step change in technology. You know, thereā€™s scary stuff out there.

My friend had it in his hand (EDIT: was had), they tried surgery to get oxygen into it but the infection was too deep and it spread. He was on disability, that was the primary reason but he had other health issues. I used to take him to the store every week because he couldnā€™t drive (too many tickets when he was younger, not health) and Iā€™d bring my laptop over to play WoW. We played MtG together and a friend wanted us to try out WoW, weā€™d swap out tanking and healing. His daughter played too, she was only 8. Weā€™d run BGs together, she did all right considering she chose her gear based on how cute it was.

Except this isnā€™t politics, itā€™s society at large.

So I made a borderline inappropriate comment last night that was deleted by a moderator, so I know they are watching this thread.

For some reason Blizzard seems to want to allow this discussion. At least for the time being.

the scientific community should be gathering up all of these great minds which are proclaiming to know so much more than themā€¦ just imagine how many chronic medical conditions could be overcome in no time at all! :upside_down_face:

I was otherwise healthy until this happenedā€¦ and then everything just snowballed.
Even if there were scientific advances which could manage to kill the bacteria, the amount of collateral damage the rest of my body has endured canā€™t be reversed.

I actually didnā€™t feel it at allā€¦ and I thought the nurse was joking when she said she was done.
Iā€™d heard so many people talking about how painful it was, so I was doing some deep breathing, and concentrating on wiggling my toes, andā€¦ it was over.
I didnā€™t feel a pinprick, or even pressure.
(the sore arm still happened, and iā€™m told that the second dose is worse, so iā€™ve got some paracetamol on hand just in case)

You trust Reuters? That says it all!
If you or anyone is not going to the deep web and research, then you are getting nothing but lies. Any kind of media (all of them) is not looking out for our health. They have an agenda and it ainā€™t good.

Iā€™m guessing you wonā€™t trust the CDC either, but just in case ā€¦

I agree. Down with capitalism. Itā€™s time for companies to stop chasing the almighty dollar.

Maybe the damaged and vandalized capitol can help your food situation if you can deactivated the nearby bombs planted :face_with_hand_over_mouth: :joy: :grimacing:

What would possess any sensible person to say such a thing? Disgusting.

Go see a medical doctor if youā€™re still hesitant. If they say donā€™t get vaccinated, fine.

If youā€™re at the point where you distrust basically bread and butter no frills pure news reporting sites like Reuters, AP News and other basic we-tell-you-thing-that-happen feeds, I can only assume that the only reporting that you think isnā€™t biased is like, Infowars and freedomeagle.conspiracyreport.us.no_step_on_snek.ru

you really are as ignorant as i suspectedā€¦

P.S. the both mean the same thing

always doesā€¦

I trust the FDA but you have to understand what theyā€™re saying or some things can be taken incorrectly. The CDC could be better but Iā€™ve read some very good neutral articles on their site. Some of the bigger medical societies, especially when associated with research medical schools.

Used to be there were a lot of good periodicals but they had heavy government influence as far as stories being pulled. New media is more permanent. I used to trust WSJ, CSM, LA Times, NYT, and some others when I could compare them to a trusted source. Journalistic integrity isnā€™t what it use to be.

havenā€™t eaten fast food in nearly 20 years now. lost 200lbs because of it

Iā€™ve found Reuters and AP to be the next best thing to going there and figuring everything out myself, especially since theyā€¦ sell their content to most other news organizationsā€¦ who then add their own flavor(?)

I got the vaccine because I needed it for school. The actual administration process was miserable because of raging trypanophobia, but aside from nausea, physical exhaustion and arm pain (most of which were due to the phobia and not the actual vaccine) I didnā€™t get sick at all.

My friend (19 y/o no major underlying health conditions) was hospitalized for a month from COVID. Iā€™d say the vaccine was the better of the two options.
