I wish there was a starcraft MMO

World of StarCraft

The baseline is already there. People have made amazing RPGs using map editors in the original StarCraft and in SC2. Heroes of the Storm also has quite a few StarCraft characters in it that go to show you can add cool abilities to them with out needed a classic fantasy setting. My favorite hero is probably Tassadar, so it’d be cool to have classes like Protoss Templar.

Would also be cool w/ all the cosmic stuff to have some seriously starcraft themed gear sets for us to wear. Like E.T.C. has a marine skin, as well as Muradin, so maybe we get a marine suit mog in WoW?

That would be dope!

They tried making starcraft “ghost” in the 2000’s, was supposed to be like a FPS I think.

I just don’t know why they gave up on RTS… make Warcraft 4 already like wtf are they even doing over there lol? Starcraft 3? Why are we waiting for these games to be absolutely forgotten before taking them off the back burner?

Oh I know, let’s focus on MOBILE gaming instead, enter arclite rumble?
“ Blizzard and NetEase, which publishes World of Warcraft in China and is also a co-creator of Diablo Immortal, are said to have cancelled the mobile game following a dispute over financial terms for the title. Warcraft Arclight Rumble, a free-to-play action strategy game for mobile, was announced by Blizzard in May.Aug 3, 2022”

I just don’t get it lol. World of starcraft could have been created and competed side by side with wow now for well over a decade, even two.

I’d love to see some SC crossover/inspired stuff. I wish I could draw, because I’ve always thought the idea of a Paladin in gold Protoss Templar inspired armour would be so cool.

I think the issue is that it feels “the next iteration (WC4, SC3, etc)” needs to be a new game. And all the REALLY end up being is the old game with new maps … and then just updated gfx.

It doesn’t feel worthy of a truly new product.

Although I guess games like Modern Warfare get away with that model, don’t they??

Maybe what they need to do is release official “map pack” expansions for like $10, 15, 20 just to keep the game in the current mindset. Like… nothing about SC2 “isn’t fun anymore.” The RTS genre hasn’t made some paradigm shift that SC2 isn’t a part of. Because if that was the case, they could release SC3!

But no one talks about SC2 anymore. It feels like a 20 year old game in the video game world. You’re like a hipster retro gamer if you play SC2. THAT is what Blizzard needs to address.

I’ve been saying for years that there needs to be a World of Starcraft! It’s a no-brainer! Let’s go Blizz!

Well, technically, each Warcraft was its own separate war. The 4th war was told through the story of BFA. It was after that war, that the faction conflict essentially ended, which is why we now have cross-faction play. For there to be a Warcraft 4, there’d need to be another war for the game to revolve around, which I don’t see happening.

Even if there was a 4th game, in the Warcraft universe, it’d be the 5th war, lol.
