a boost is not an improvement. It’s a step backwards. A de-evolution. A butterfly effect that destroys communities
This exact argument was said about Classic.
Absolutely not. Classic is THE GAME. Not some expansion with pet battles and insta ques. It’s a rpg that keeps you immersed. The best rpg ever made. Sub counts show. Mainstream media approved. RPG heaven.
I’m amazed this keeps getting parroted despite most estimated numbers saying that retail has more active players than classic currently
My server full. Thousands of people in orgrimmar. Horde strong. Blizzard didn’t merge my server.
I’m not sure what any of that has to do with anything but good for you?
edit: let’s put an example to it. say you have 2 different buildings - each room in each building can hold a maximum of 10 people. the first building only has 5 rooms in it, while the second building has 20 rooms in it
in the first building, you’re at full capacity - 10 people in all 5 rooms. in the second building, each room is only at half capacity - 5 people in all 20 rooms
you’re only looking at your individual room, which is at full capacity, but what you’re ignoring is the total people in each building - the building you are in, despite being at full capacity, because it has significantly less rooms (servers) at 50 total, while the second building, even if each of its rooms are only at half capacity, has many more rooms (servers) to spread out the population, and has double the total occupancy of the first building at 100
tl;dr: an individual server is irrelevant when comparing the total number of active players
Classic TBC =/= Classic. They’re two different things. It’s why currently BE/Draenei cannot be boosted, but vanilla races can be.
You’re also way off if you consider WoW in any form to be the best RPG ever.
Wow… are you insane? What world do you live on. Anyone who was into rpgs in the last two decades played world of warcraft at some point.
Classic should be classic. Remain untouched… otherwise it’s not classic it’s TBC2
Not necessarily at all. Though, that does include people who played for a few days and stopped because they were bored. Because, ultimately, that’s the problem - modern WoW is quite boring and Classic is a niche game. RPGs are more than just leveling and stats, it’s about the story, the experience, the world, and if it’s enjoyable or not.
I guarantee more players have played popular RPGs like Dragon Age and Fallout than have played WoW.
Classic doesn’t have boosts. Classic TBC does.
popularity =/= quality
WoW is popular because it’s fun and accessible, that doesn’t mean it’s “the best”. Especially when “the best” is a subjective concept to begin with
how about booty? Would you pay for booty?
99% huh? You’re a clown. It’s more than 3 or 4. There just isn’t many who use the forum and even less that care enough on the subject one way or the other.
Wth is with all the blatently made up stuff in opposition to boosts? It only serves to make these posters look ridiculous. Decenters are all payed shills for Blizzard? Lmao. For authenticity we also day unprofessional things and occasionally get forums bans to throw off the fact we are paid so much sweet $$ from blizzard.
LOL oh this is too good.
The Kardashians are “mainstream approved” (trash).
Daytime TV is “mainstream approved” (trash, although I do still love me some Judge Mathis)
Social media influencers are “mainstream approved” (trash)
I could go on forever.
This has to be trolling at it’s worst (or a serious case of too much Mountain Dew. Also mainstream approved, also trash).
hey man don’t drag mountain dew into this it’s not its fault
The boost to 58, only for TBC? That feature started in 2014, and Blizzard has used it with every new expansion since 2014. It is a proven SALES feature, that add tens of thousands of new players to the game each time.
Then don’t play classic games dude if that’s your opinion. If it’s so terrible why are you lurking about in our forums?
Bobby’s private island fund
you are correct
Your forums? Oookay. You’re funny.
Ive been playing WoW since day 1. Been playing Classic since day 1.
I just found your statement about “mainstream approved” hilarious, especially since you tried to use it to disprove why boosts are OK.
You’re a vanilla snob through and through, and while I’m not a fan of retail (which is why I stopped years ago), people like you are the sole reason I would stop playing Classic and go back. But I’m not as thin-skinned as some of the anti boost and vanilla snob crowd, so that’s not likely to happen.
Oh man, “our forums” though, you just keep lining up the good ones. XD XD XD
