I will never be happy with World of Warcraft

I will never be happy with this game because everything is always changing. How can I or anyone expect to be happy when nothing stays long enough to have fun. For years I had fun in this game because for years the same formula never changed. I have spent over $1000 dollars in this game, and I have kept every single receipt for this game since 2006.

I can not have fun because once I find something in the game to have fun with it gets removed or changed. Your old system will always be better because of one simple thing. it worked. You devs have spent how many years trying to come up with a new system that works. Have you been successful? No. Any system that you come up with fails or you come close like Artifact weapons, and change it. So how can I or anyone else hold on to fun gameplay when we know it will change or be removed because you want to control every part of what players do in your video game?

As of right now I can’t have fun because I will always expect things to change or be removed. Oh that armor set looks really amazing, and the ability’s on the set would work great with my play style. No removed. Anything that I would like to work hard to get or achieved just gets changed or removed. Why bother getting excited for anything from a new post or expansion? Its going to be changed no matter what. Is change your way of keeping things fun? Are you trying to be like Riot? Will you ever make a system that works that players can just hold on to? Am I expected to relearn things every expansion?

What is your main goal? How can we put our faith or trust in you if we don’t even know what your main goal is when doing so many changes every expansion? You tell people to post because you don’t think watching videos is good feed back, but don’t really respond in a timely way to hold conversions for the feed back to work. even if players put in the work on the forms. it does not matter. I have no idea what you are doing, but I do know one thing for sure that I will always be right about no matter what. Nothing will stay long enough in the game to hold any form of fun.

This is life. Not sure what you really expect. Change is necessary in order for things to remain relevant, be it through a video game or life in general.

Each thing which has “changed” over the years in WoW had essentially been a thing for a prolonged period of time (a year + minimum.)

While I too can come up with a list of things I wish were still in the game, I can also come up with a separate list of things I’m glad are gone.

Again … this is the way of life.

If you want things to be stale all the time and never change, FFXIV is the right fit for you.

Gunna be real, the game hasn’t changed -that- much. This post is pretty vague and stuff like

Just makes me think this is a troll thread and not a real argument. :open_mouth:

You speak only for yourself. Been playing since 2006 and I still enjoy the game. Try again.

There is a lot of truth to this post. I use fishing as a prefect example on this. Look at it in Legion. You had a artifact fishing pole you needed grind AP on to level it for some cool benefits and also could sell the lures on the AH. You had 40 man fishing groups in premade on a daily basis, Fishing the weekly zone or doing drowned mana farms. You had special bobbers and vendors for each zone. Mounts. The amount of abilities on the pole it’s self was amazing.

Then You take a look at BFA, You have a mount. Literally that’s fishing in BFA. It’s honestly a joke and clearly the decision was made to cut fishing, Even though it would been easy to keep the same system. Would make developing the game 10 times easier from expansion to expansion as well.

I get the frustration. Hopefully someday blizzard will finally get it.

I’d enjoy it a lot less if everything stayed the same.

I dont think that’s what he means. He mean the systems it’s self. Dungeon, PvP and Raid systems have been the same forever. Only ever added to. I think that’s what he’s trying to say. No one want the game the same forever.

We all feel you, OP.

This is something that has been resonating across the forums, albeit in different forms. The complain that Blizzard just keeps morphing systems after systems, with no clear direction or indication if they are even improvements.

I have offered the possibility that it is due to blizzard’s high turnover, losing all their creative leads, designers and even 2 of their 3 founders in the last few years, that the new developers have no choice but to reinvent their own wheels and force the changes down our throats.

Why?

If you are a designer, would you work to maintain and perfect a system that you can never lay claim to? Any improvement will only work to improve the portfolio of the predecessor, or will you design something that the most popular MMORPG game in the world would implement, and thus you can put it in YOUR portfolio when you are moving to different companies eventually as Blizzard is not exactly known to reward its staff for their efforts.

There is little we can do. Change is guaranteed, as it is in real life.

You are not wrong, just remember that this is a forum for the very game you are criticizing. People that did not leave as the game declined. Blizzard has lost market share and disappointed so many players, and will probably continue to do so. It is people that cry out in frustration that once really enjoyed what this universe had to offer, invested too much time and cash that get scolded for speaking out. You are not wrong, and you probably will get no sympathy from many here.

You got to make yourself happy.

WoWs not about being happy, it was designed to make addicted.

How long does it take you to have fun? Most things last for 2 YEARS. That is a huge amount of time.

In my opinion it is ridiculous to expect anything to last more than 2 years. If you only “have fun” starting the 4th or 5th year, you need to quit this MMO – and probably every other MMO on the market.

Don’t say “or anyone” - millions of people have fun the first week, and every week. They don’t wait years. In fact lots of people want things to change faster. That’s what they say in this forum.

You cut that second quote off from the one thing.

What one thing?

It’s literally the last sentence in the post. Did you just stop at the second to last and call it a day? Who’s really trolling here?

I cut a lot from the post because a lot of it didn’t feel needed, are you talking about things changing and not being fun? Cause that was posted like three separate times. The OP can have their opinions but saying things like I kept every receipt to a video game over 14 years and I am right no matter what is weird to say.

Honestly, things have always gone away. People complained that their epics were replaced in the next expansions. Gear ALWAYS progresses and gets replaced.

The only things that are permenant in this game (and what I will spend more time on) is:

  • Mounts
  • Pets
  • Transmogs
  • Toys

Everything else is borrowed for an expansion and always has been.

He didn’t say he was right no matter what. Are you just here to troll?
