I will miss Nathanos when he goes

The following is sentimental confession to a very hated character of Nathanos, if triggered. Please respond with snark, its what Nathanos would want.

Anyway,

He has was always been snarky bastard with a single minded dedication

And all who didn’t share were worthless maggots.

To blizzard credit, as little as that worth nowadays, he hasn’t changed. And will hopefully to go down with that ship that is Sylvanas.

I have no doubt that will be for the best, if only to bury this plot in the trash bin of expansions.

But I will miss him still, remember him for the bastard who sent me on those annoying quest in Vanilla and gave me no respect for it.

Perhaps, it because he was the only honest npc, telling me how worthless my time must be if am actually using it to help him.

Never changed Nanathos, and please tell the rebellion before you go how worthless they all are.

I know what you mean. It’s kind of like with Genn and Sylvanas for me. Though I hate Sylvanas, part of me will also miss her when she’s gone. I guess it’s that love hate relationship sort of thing, two sides of the same coin lol.

I’m starting to wonder if Horde fans have beaten spouse syndrome…

You realize you can still proof read on a phone, right?

I kinda sympathize for him, though. He shared the same dream as all undead players, to live a long unlife cucked by Sylvanas.

She is an iconic character, and it will be loss when she does go.

But she should really go, enough damage has been done.

I seen more as dysfunctional family, that had to live with absent father, abusive stepfathers, and now a tyrannical step mother.

It sucks, but these are the people we have grown up with. It hard not to be attached to them.

I’ll miss old Nate if he gets killed. I like him because he reminds me of the old Sylvanas in a way. Never really has anything nice to say, when he does he’s probably throwing shade… reminds me of a simpler time.

I would love him as the new Forsaken leader when Sylvanas moves on to whatever is next for her but we will probably get Calia or something

Anduin can be your fairy god mother. Baine can be your prince.

Nathanos can be the evil step sibling that gets their eyes pecked out by doves.

Baine is more the Princess then Prince. But otherwise I think that where the future of the horde is heading.

Not really to mad about it though, the alternative with Sylvanas is unsustainable.

Nathanos is among my favourites characters in the lore. And the interaction with him into the game is really fun, i prefer a snarky guy like him than someone tell me all the time how important i’m. I’m not sure if he is going to leave after this expansion.

Anyway, if he is going to get killed… i mean killed again, at least the Orgrimmar Med School will have a human corpse that is not completely rotten for the first time.

I’m on two minds with ol’ Nathan. I liked his whole cranky sarcastic shtick but I would have liked him more if he developed more outside of Sylvanas’ resident butt-kisser. He would have been interesting to me if he had represented the Forsaken as a whole in BfA and not just Sylvanas specifically, because now he’s just tainted by association.

As someone who spent the last 2-months Horde, but who almost exclusively plays Alliance otherwise, I’ve got to say I really like Nathanos.

He offers a much more relatable take on life as a Forsaken, juxtaposing a bit of humor and plenty of social decorum over their decidedly morbid ideology; which is honestly how they need to start writing all future Forsaken characters, because it would create a stark contrast between them and other organizations with people who’re undead (i.e. Scourge, Cult of the Damned, etc.).

I really don’t think he has ever like the forsaken, I actually don’t think he like much of anything save Sylvanas.

So really don’t agree, I rather him stay true to what he always has been rather to changed into something he isn’t.

I am saying this, because I really do hope that both Sylvanas and Nathanos story do in fact end this expansion, or at very least thrown in deep void fridge for long time.

That’s fair, all of us have different opinions on characters we like/dislike.

I guess my thought was more that the Forsaken desperately need a character that isn’t just for themselves or their Queen. If Sylvanas is getting killed/removed etc, I think it’s a shame that the Horde will be without ANOTHER leader because Nathanos isn’t likely to replace her if that’s the case. Aside from Lilian Voss or Calia (please god no) there’s no really well-developed replacement.

I will say, I do find his crass attitude to be a refreshing perspective though when I’m playing on my Horde toons.

This is more-or-less the TL;DR of my post a couple above yours. The way he presents himself, to friend and foe, is refreshingly light-hearted (when compared against other Forsaken, or even undead generally).

That’s something that the Horde could really use, as most of the sub-factions within the Horde are quite somber (obviously excepting Goblins).

It’s kinda refreshing after being called god-hero-champion all the time. Reminds me of Gothic games where everyone /spit on you but you gotta overcome that and get stronger to kill dragons.

I love nathanos i wanna be like him when i die.

I never leveled any Horde toons high enough to quest in the Plaguelands back in the day, so I don’t have any fond memories of Nathanos as a questgiver. I only know him as the tryhard edgelord I’ve encountered over and over for the past few expansions. I’ll give a happy wave goodbye the day he’s killed for good.

I have really liked Nathanos. I like his snarky attitude and how he interacts with you all the time when you do quests and so on. I do hope he is around for a long time. He has been in the game since Vanilla so why should they get rid of him?
But still I think he would be an excellent interim Leader if and when the Sylvanas is killed or sails off into the sunset.

For us Alliance he was actually a kill quest objective. Raid quest. By himself you probably needed about 20 players to beat him. Issue was that as a Horde quest giver, and because he would belt out a zone-wide /yell for the Horde to help him when aggroed, you typically had to deal with enemy players while fighting him.

It was a really fun experience though.

I feel like if/when Sylvanas is removed from power and either forcibly exiled or granted her final death, Nathanos has precisely the type of politically-minded personality to deal with the other nations of the Horde and the nations of the Alliance. That could be useful for Blizzard, whether or not the factions stick around.

I will miss him as well… if I roll a one on my d20.
