I went and got a Tartarus

After some research, advice from friends and finding a bargain, I’ve decided to give it a go.

I’ve remapped my key bindings today and while it makes some sense with my current setup, I’m curious what others do.

My usual classes are: Healy dragon, DPS dragon, paladin tank, arc mage, fire mage, Healy priest and DK tank. I also play other alts from time to time.

I’ve essentially setup one row per set of action bars, with an alt modifier for the button on the Tartar sauce.

What about you?

The old orbweaver was the best. I hate the new tartarus and how the lower keys are offset.

Actually did me a favor. I got good at just using my keyboard.

Razer naga is fine for me. All my defensives, boosts, and utilty buttons as well as movement is assigned to the mouse.

I’ve been using the Razer Naga and Orbweaver (later Tartarus V1) setup since the early 2010s – and never looked back, for any type of game. I only use a keyboard to type, and to do so I have to completely stop playing. The keys on the Razer equipment are accessible, the egronomics are healthy longterm, and you can bind as many buttons as you need. 10/10 would recommend moving away from mouse & keyboard to MMO mouse + advanced gamepad. For PvP, it’s basically +Rating immediately and a long-term upwards curve, once you tinker and figure out a setup that works for you and get the muscle memory down… your responsiveness, performance and enjoyment in the game will go wayy up

Of course… there’s no magic recipe that fits all. Some might fare better with a keyboard, but at this point if you took away my gamepad, I wouldn’t be able to or have the patience to play anything. Trying to do so rather recently for just less than an hour gave me severe carpel tunnel tension and pain. So yeah, overall I’d vote for the gamepad anyday.
