I was wrong

Gouge isn’t returning. Slice and Dice isn’t returning. Classic Rogue buttons aren’t returning.

Find Weakness now empowers Eviscerate to deal Shadow Damage. Subtlety is getting an AoE Shadow Damage finisher.

Everything Blizzard has ever said about unpruning and returning to class fantasy is nothing but disingenuous lipservice designed to string us along.

See you all in classic/TBC where I can play a real Rogue. I will not be seeing you in Shadowlands.

I honestly want to say told you so, but I feel bad that you were looking forward to a rogue more in line with the ways of old. Sorry Shoes.

I appreciate that you are being empathetic instead of rubbing it in.

Hope you enjoy Shadowlands.

Extremely dissapointed and dissatisfied. Hopefully they will rethink this change and give us back old sub.

You too, if you want changes be sure to continue to voice them (without putting down others) it is just Alpha at this point theres still a chance that SOME things could change.

I’m more optimistic about changes since I never really played a subtlety rogue and anything that gets rid of the current abomination known as roll the bones sounds fantastic to me.

But I’m not going to lie… Really, really disappointed no gouge for all specs. That feels like just something they need to put in.

I tried to continue using my original, first toon I ever created Rogue as an Outlaw Rogue, but constant RNG was not worth the hassle. I have kept my Rogue with Slice and Dice as a farming toon. Once in a blue moon I will do a mythic key. I tell myself, maybe one day It will return to its high pedestal in Raids. I raid every week, sadly on other class toons. I really hope Shadowlands is much better than BFA(which is a low bar). If it becomes AP 2.0 I will be departing the game after playing for well over a decade. So I remain hopeful and optimistic, even if Slice and Dice, Combat Rogues will be forever a sweet memory.

I’ve found that Assassination is the last bastion in Retail for those who still appreciate how Rogues used to be. At least that’s how it feels. It still does all the things that Rogues did in Vanilla like Rupture, Garrote, poisons, and physical damage with just your melee weapons and no guns or shadow magic.

How it plays is a different story since it’s pretty braindead. In PvE you’re just casting your bleeds, Toxic Blade, and Envenom over and over. It’s the same in PvP and your target doesn’t stand much chance after they’re loaded up with your bleeds and numerous poisons.

Since one our specs is so simple like this I still have no idea why they tried to make Outlaw so fancy. Combat with Bandit’s Guile was the peak of the spec for me since you had that basic rotation but it also lead to a moment of opportunity that you had to take full advantage of.

It’s so sad that Combat was effectively erased from the Retail game and now we’ll probably never see it back since this is as far as they’re willing to go with their “unpruning” which for some reason just involves changing some Outlaw abilities and doesn’t bring it any closer to Combat or even Outlaw in Legion when it was more fun to play.

Priests seem to be getting stiffed too… But it’s early, we still don’t know much and there’s still time for them to make changes.

You want to read something funny.

Ctrl+F “Unpruning” and read that sentence.
A tear for our glorious Gouge.

Probably shouldn’t be too dramatic. There is still a chance!

Circle the wagons.

We are a small community as Rogues compared to other classes like DHs, Hunters, and Pallies.

But we have been in this position before. We just have to be consistent, vocal and on point with messaging!

LOL yeah i actually forgot about that. It only effects evis, not even our CP GENERATOR THAT IS SUPPOSE TO DO DMG. My dog can design a better spec.

The way I read that, all attacks will ignore armor. However, Eviscerate also does an extra chunk of shadow damage.

Yea, I wish the Combat rogue would return…

I don’t know if it’s pure laziness or just lack of caring from these class developers but it’s almost ridiculous how little they care what we are saying

Lots of nerfs incoming unfortunately.

Have to wait and see the buffs but it is looking unfortunate right now.

Today I enter PTR, see if by any chance if Rogues changed for the better. SO I tried to copy one of my rogues and I could not. It simply said " Copy failed". Not only was my Rogue any level 120 toon I have, from any server. So I’m not getting my hope up.

Hope, it’s what TBC is made of.
