Well, the ‘you’ in my post was referring to most guys in general.
But yeah, this is what happens when you have actual good writers who know how to write a good strong independent female character. You get someone like Y’shtola who is believable and relatable.
Way better than, say, Abby.

Well, with Endwalker coming, there’ll be a new battle theme in the new areas.
Perhaps temporarily turn the music off while solo questing, and turn it back on for dungeon content? I mean once you get to max level, you very rarely fight out in the open world anyhow.

Well, quite a lot of those females in FFXIV. But I don’t really think there have been much focus on ‘strong independent women’ and more so just a focus on writing strong characters, and especially companions that you would like to hang around which makes sense as the Scions are your primary NPC contacts throughout the MMORPG.
You still get bros like Raubahn, Aymeric and Estinien though… and I dare not invoke his H- name.
This isn’t even about WoW at this point, not sure why people still insist on posting about it here. You were wrong about a game, and enjoy it… nice revelation but honestly nothing here to discuss apart from others who like ff14 which you’d get a better discussion on said game on said forum instead of here.
That’s the whole fooking point that so many writers tend to forget.
Too many writers cherry-pick one character trait and try to write a character designed around that character trait and it comes across as being fake AF.
“I want to write a strong independent female character.” will get you something like Abby.
“I want to write a cool character that people will fall in love with.” will get you something like Y’shtola or Yda (I know some people think she’s over the top with her comedic relief, but I rather liked her).
I dunno, I mean, we’re doing just fine discussing it now. Why do you feel the need to jump in here and tell everybody that they should leave? We’re not hurting anybody here.

You could always simply not click the threads. Nobody is forcing you to click on the threads. I mean, anytime I pull up GD, I see lots of thread titles that make me roll my eyes.
I don’t click on them and whine in them, though.

The download keeps failing for me. I’ve tried multiple times.
I actually stopped playing WoW for a while because I had hurt my hand and wasn’t able to play pcs games, and then all the drama broke and I just never returned. I like checking on the story and forums so found myself here today to see this. I jumped into FFXIV when I started to crave some WoW and its definitely a much better game than I originally thought. After I learned about weaving I realized the play style isn’t nearly as slow as people think. All in all, I would say positive experience.

Yeah, sadly the congested servers are making stuff like that and creating a character difficult. They’re trying to fix the problems but it’s not easy.
Have you tried the Steam edition? Maybe that might be a bit easier?
