I was wrong about classic

I was one that hardcore smack talked classic. Said it was just a tedious grind and it wouldn’t last and so on.

I started a priest around 9:30 last night just for something to do. Before I knew it it was 11:30 and I needed to get to bed. I only made it to level 7 but it was pure FUN.

I’ve heard talk about a lot of the RPG elements missing from retail and after playing classic I see how they’re missing and the game is worse off for it.

I’m not crapping on retail because I’ll continue to play and I do enjoy it but the MAIN problem with retail is EVERYTHING feels disposable. It feels like nothing matters much in retail because you can get a raid geared class in a couple of weeks. There’s no investment.

If you’ve not tried it I urge you to at least give it a shot. If you hate it that’s fine at least you tried. I almost didn’t and I’m very glad I did.

Classic mistake.

That’s your choice. The appeal to classic runs deeper than you think. The people that play it are people that don’t mind a slow pace and are playing for the world and not chasing the next endgame patch.

HA! Good one.

this will be the case.

I’m happy for you Drakulos. Let us know how it goes.

A couple of weeks–so a month?

That’s a pretty big investment considering people cleared Classic in a week.

lol

Cool, I guess. Have a good time. That’s what it boils down to in the end.

Yes. Very well stated.

I got so bored with BfA I just left. Sub’s out in 6 days & I don’t think I’ll resub right away but hope that if I do later, there will be more to the game.

To be honest classic release killed my entire experience on retail. No, not because classic is the better game; because 80% of my friend list is now on classic.

It takes 20 minutes to curate a group for m+ now, and of those people I find there is a huge skill vacuum compared to before. The regulars I used to run with to smooth out the randomness of pugs are all gone. They raid log, or have quit until a future patch in favor of just messing around with classic.

SIX of my friends guilds died; two were cutting edge. Half of their team went off to casual around on classic until a future patch arrives.

Classic legit chunked huge portions of retail wow for many of us. To the point I don’t even bother logging on much anymore because no one I know is going to be on.

Thanks.

So because some people that played hardcore on private servers was able to clear the first raid it’s all over?

Lol

Try classic. If retail isn’t doing it for you, try classic. You can really lose yourself in the world.

That is exactly why I gave classic a try. M+ pugging is in shambles right now and isn’t even worth trying. I tried classic on a whim and so glad I did. Maybe in a few months M+ pugging will be back to semi decent but I fully agree with you it’s not worth it right now.

No thks! No worgen :wolf: No game :wolf:

No thanks
I have no desire to play classic because there is no class or race that interests me in classic

The classic gameplay is more of interest to the nostalgic and curious

I’m not curious about classic
And classic is a no-progress lore game, stuck in a loop

You wouldnt need it anyway
We already have many classic lovers doing this, since the beginning of classic servers by Blizzard

I used to think that the only appeal to classic was the nostalgia or for people that never played it. It goes deeper than that but if you’ve got your mind set there’s nothing I can say to change it. Good luck to you.

Keep in mind we are playing the 1.12 version of classic and thus the first few raids have already been nerfed to oblivion in order to promote acessibility to content.

Classic is an old game without relevant lore
the character models are the old ones, and they’re pretty ugly

To complete the classic already gave a sample of the public that he has

I wouldnt force myself to deal with people like that, especially now that they are in profusion in classic

And classic doesn’t need much more advertising on GD, because topics like this are popping up every 10 minutes at a spam festival that only loses to cascading topics when the High Elf topic is closed by the avalanche of flags

Many players aren’t interested in clearing the raids the first few weeks. Kind of like you, how you haven’t done any actual end game in BfA, many players are the same. They aren’t in a rush.

Classic is just a fundamentally better world and atmosphere than Retail.

I’ll give Retail its due: I play a Shadow Priest on Classic and a Shadow Priest on Retail - the way the class feels on Retail is insanely good (at least now - on launch it was clunky and played like feces)… but for all the classes smoothness, visuals and impact, what’s the point of being that cool when the world itself poses no threat to you?

I just dot everything I can see and melt everything within 40 feet - they don’t even break my Azerite-power shield. And look at me - I’m in garbage-tier gear.

I’m just imagining the way this class plays in a world that’s actually imposing, like Classic, where 2 mobs at a time is a legitimate threat… and I’m forced to use my whole toolkit or even group/socialize with others. That’d be an MMO worth playing.

It’s not just the RPG elements of the game, but you actually get stronger as you level! You have power progression something that hasn’t existed in retail for a while.

I was wrong about classic as well.

I thought it would be fun instead of a tedious time consuming no life grind where you stand like a NPC waiting for a random energy or rage bar point to fill till you can actually use a skill.

But hey! Tedious time consuming mind numbing grind with higher difficulty = sense of pride and achievement according to these players.

Player 1: Whee I got my mount at lvl 20 in Retail for some gold. Now I can have fun.
Player 2: LUL unless I’m forced to walk till lvl 40 and get beaten by the game countless times and have the real scars to prove it it’s not a achievement. LMAO what a casual.

I would rather be Player 1 and actually spend time consuming the game content than be Player 2 and be forced to spend additional time just to feel “accomplished” in 14 year old content
