I was Whispered by a Level 60 gnome warlock that I made a bad decision playing Human

He told me to reroll for better racials so that I would enjoy the game at the end more.

Is this true. Did I choose my race wrong? I like my girl but I do not want to let my guild down.

Night elf’s and dwarves are the only ally races I recognize.

Ignore the conceited, elitist min-maxxer.
Play what you find fun.
Your DPS will be fine.

Edit: and punt the gnome next time you see it.

my experience playing Alliance everyone who plays gnome is a weirdo. stick with Human.

What’s your focus? PvP? PvE?

If your focus is PvE you have big advantages over Horde warlocks since Horde Warlocks rarely if ever get Shamans in their groups. You get Kings, Wisdom, but most importantly Blessing of Salvation which is a godsend for a class with no other form of threat reduction besides set bonuses and a cloak enchant.

If you just plan on being a PvE raid logger don’t even bother rerolling Horde. The difference between gnome warlocks and human warlocks for PvE is marginal if even noticeable at all.

Next time someone tells you that you’re playing wrong tell them that if they want to tell you how to play then they should pay your sub. Seriously, just play what you think is cool and what you find enjoyable. Don’t worry about the people that try to min/max this game, play your own game. No one is going to deny a warlock a spot because they’re not a gnome.

Female Human have decent casting animations. I’m also a big fan of all the Alliance racial mounts (Horse>Cat>Mechanostrider>Ram), but Gnomes look weird on all but Mechanostriders.

If you didn’t go in to the game with Racials in mind then it shouldn’t be enough of a factor for you to reroll. Enjoy your Female Human.

While I support Gnomes, I am an avid supporter of playing what and how you like.

Humans have some good bonuses as well. The Faction bonus can make a lot of grinds easier. And since most Armour is designed with Humans as a base model, it usually looks better on them.

Believe me your guild won’t notice the difference in output between the two races.

rep bonus > 15 int

unless your guild is really sweaty they won’t force you to play a top tier race per your class and role. While gnomes have +5% int and are thus better for a player in a non sweaty guild humans have massive reputation gains. If you want to get gear from pvp rep or 20 man raid rep you will have to get ~4200 less rep to reach max compared to everyone else.

If you care about performance, gnomes ARE better than humans as warlocks. The difference is small but not negligible. You get 5% more intelligence. That is after gear AND world buffs. So it scales with both ZG buff and kings. Bonus intellect means you have some more mana so you can potentially cast some more before life-tapping, and the bonus int increases your crit chance, but not by a lot.

If you care about parsing, you made the wrong choice. If you don’t, then you haven’t. Gnomes are not drastically better than humans.

Human lock BiS in tbc, all of my homies HATE gnomes

You shouldn’t reroll.

Source: look at my character.

Yeah gnome is technically bis for lock. But how much are you gonna play a character that you do not like? Lol the real bis is the character that you like and you actually want to play so do whatever makes you happy

Any potato can pve in wow in any setting retail or classic
Literally any person. Races are not going to stop bosses from dying.

If your goal is pvp and its your main focus then you would chose the PVP Race for sure.

…No? No, like, seriously, your race has no effect on your performance as a warlock. You aren’t a warrior, a rogue, a hunter… You aren’t even a mage to get a huge benefit out of expansive mind.

The discussion is just Perception vs Escape Artist, and to a warlock that choice is mostly about what you’d enjoy having more.
