Since stunandbung and drainer quit prot, i was the last prot above gladiator that kept on going because i saw hopes with the buffs, but now ive just realized blizzard doesn’t want prot paladin to be viable in pvp. Its already impossible to be a flag carrier, before the nerfs, impossible to beat a healer and support before the nerfs, impossible to beat any dps on dmg, (im a r1 with perfect rotation and knowlefge of when to use cds, and i cant beat more dps on dmg) and overall even before these nerfs, the moment someone knows they can cc my only defensive which is guardian means im dead, just full burst me stun or incap guardian and im dead because 50k dps with the 50% dmg taken increased in pvp is unhealable, and all of this before the nerfs. People will say, « but dude you can 1v2 in skirms » and ill just remind them the players ive just 1v2 are noobs with no honor gear and 200k hps that arent even close to gladiator. I see pikaboo 1v2 r1s, mvqdh doing 1v5s against fully honor geared players and alot of other r1s at my lvl of skill able to do way more than i am before these coming nerfs. So why do you nerf prot in pvp ? I need an explanation because saying prot did too much healing when it did no dmg is not an answer. It was only natural if you do half the dmg of a dps to do double the healing of a dps right ? So now you nerf our healing but not buff our dmg. Prot is just going to be a way worse ret paladin, less burst dmg, less sustained dmg, less healing, less dmg reduction (60% dmg taken increase at least ?! Thats double the bfa value for dmg taken for tanks, are you insane ?) and finally no mobility. So good job, nerfing the only thing prot had left which was defensive and healing. Now prot is C rank on dps, healing, sustain, mobility and has no place in pvp.
Tbh its been obvious since beginning of prepatch they dont want it to be competitive. Only keeping my pally for ret alt now.
I’ve always held onto the faint glimmer of hope that, one day, we’d see Prot get a Gladiator Stance mechanic that allowed it to transition into a DPS role. Prot is so fun mechanically outside of the need to keep defensives up that it saddens me how gimmicky it’s always been in PvP. Sadly, though, when Blizzard stated Prot would only appear in mirror matches for Solo Shuffle…the writing was pretty clear.
I actually am pursuing a complete refund of dragonflight. The changes are beyond unacceptable. Glad to leave this piece of crap game behind and into much greener pastures. Enjoying GOW 1 and Ragnarok so much, and will do another run of Elden Ring.
Time to leave this putrid carcass of a game behind.

They don’t want any tanks being viable in PvP. If you look at most rankings tanks are all at the bottom.
