I was hyped and excited about SL up until this week

And then after doing several M+, painstakingly killing 6 bosses in Nathria which took an ungodly amount of time - coming across a lot of toxic players and getting an amazing 1 piece of loot to show for it after all those many hours, I didn’t even log in anymore. It is not rewarding, it is not fun, it is not World of Warcraft. Why would I waste all this time if I can play far more rewarding games that are out at exactly the same time as this, no thanks.

Yeah video games are a huge waste of time especially this one. Go learn an instrument or a language or just go outside for some fresh air.

Players really did get spoiled SO BAD the last 2 expansions…

Did you do the content with a guild/friends? In classic wow, I may not get gear but other people in the guild do, which helps everyone. So the slow gearing process is fine.

I too am finding SL not to be very appealing as a solo player. Basically down to playing a single character and completing the weekly content. Not even doing mythic pugs because my experience with pugging has been really negative. I think I’d have more fun if I had a group of friends to play with regularly, but they only play Classic.

I did my M+ runs with 3 other friends and I don’t enjoy guild drama so I’ll never go back to that. I have tons of friends, one of them quit this week after being back after 2 years like me. If I wanted classis wow experience, I would be playing classic wow.

This is what happens when you take away titanforging and sockets.

The drops you get are meaningful now and have impact, therefore lower drop rates. If everyone geared their main within 2 weeks of new content the content would dry up ultra fast.

Welcome to old wow gearing. Pre Legion this is how it was.

Not true, we used to have justice and valor systems. Even if did not get any gear from a raid or dungeon run, I could still pick and choose a good piece from the vendor that I needed. Plus the legendary cape questline was really amazing and well round up.

Maybe they want all the whiners to quit early to reduce toxicity and complaints and the game will get better as time goes on?

Thank you for getting it. OH my god.

You should NOT be getting fully geared and 2304832 items after doing a few hours of content.

Yep, if less loot dropping is the way they want to go then we need a currency again or people are going to get frustrated and unsub.

Up anima amounts too, 35 when transmogs cost 1000s per piece is pathetic.

Did I even say fully geared? Do you know how to read and interpret something

The closest equivalent will be the great vault. Just like Valor you could get a piece a week depending on how you spent your Valor. At least with the vault were guaranteed a piece if you do the content and even options if you complete a lot of said content.

May work out well. We’ll see.

Expecting to get a few pieces of below 200 gear from spending hours in low keys is not expecting to be fully geared. Fully geared is 226+ and farming 15s.

People just want to get upgrades from low keys so they can slowly move up to higher keys, as is reasonable.

Not really because with Valor or Justice I could fill in a slot that I was lacking, without RNG envolved. I can still get something absolutely garbage this way.

They are all in on the vault design being the primary way people get gear upgrades, and since there’s the multiple choices there will be less feels bad moments opening it than in BFA.

PvP, Raiding, and M+ all have had their gearing slowed way down. Think we need to give it a couple weeks with the vault and see how it truly pans out.

That being said the “I did a dungeon, I should be guaranteed SOMETHING” attitude is so silly.

I didn’t do 1 dungeon, I ran at least about 30 M+ dungeons so far and got nothing to show for it.

Welcome to what WoW used to be before gear rained from the sky all night and day and a person could get geared fully in a weeks time. This is how WoW should be like back in the day of MoP and before. Where it took weeks of grinding content over and over again to get geared. It made it where when you got something it was valued and felt like an accomplishment. Not just like another peace a candy handed to you for waking up and logging in.

I am so happy they listened about how terrible the gear bloat was in BFA and changed it for the better.

So not true, I started playing during Pandaria, and Mythic dungeons weren’t a thing then. I distinctly remember running HC dungeons, getting geared up enough via RNG and justice points to get into LFR, drop enough gear to get into Flex (which is normal now) and then to Normal (which is Heroic now). And the legendary cape questling was simply rewarding and amazing. Plus all the valor items for bad luck protection AND reroll coins, which are now gone.

But you do… You unlocked 3 M+ slots in the weekly vault guaranteeing you the best of 3 pieces of gear based on key level.

It was pretty clear before shadowlands launched the design shift from “Spam M+ and be decked in gear” to “Do M+ to improve vault rewards”.

It’s the same thing with conquest. TONS of outrage about 550 per week without mentioning the guaranteed conquest piece every single week in addition to that.

171 ilvl is all that is needed to run normal raid right now.
