I was going to make a event with the faction war winding down. It was going to be cross faction in the newly restored Vale of Eternal Blossoms that would have players talk about forgiving certain other nations or races for what they have done to them and moving on. With 1 cinematic and 2 cut scenes and an entire expansion eluding to wrapping up a 20 year long conflict, this character would of been perfect to host such an event.
But Ion told me I think I wanted to do this, but I really dont.
So now I cant really do this anymore so i would like to ask my fellow WrA players, how am I going to keep my jolly Pandaren Brewmaster Monk in this inclusive conflict that is the foundation and piller of World of Sylvanascraft?
Truthfully? By being a bit like Loh. Is the faction war just going to end? Highly unlikely, both sides still have unresolved bad blood that wont be removed easily. Loh himself still does feel some bitterness.
That said, could basically just put his foot down and go “Screw it! We’re doing this!” and host an event with the bid of taking a step (even if small) to cultivating understanding. It is an RP server, afterall, and by god I’d be damned if some Mod who gave my cross faction RP elixirs told me how to RP.
The fact that we have two factions does not mean we’re at war. In fact, they’ve specifically stated that the factions won’t have much of a role at all in the upcoming expansion.
The fact that the factions continue to exist, for the purposes of PvP, gameplay and lore, is not a bad thing. I’d hate for them to dissolve entirely.
We’re at peace. We’ve got cross RP. The war is supposedly over for good this time.
While I would hate if the factions ever dissolved and love both of them for the lore, we are still at war. We have a armistice however Tyrande did not sign the peace treaty. I fully expect either a Ashran to be made in Shadowlands or the expac after that, full blown war again. The playerbase has been asking for cross faction grouping for years and Ion Ion’ed it down.
Just because the game lore says the factions are still going to be in place, it doesn’t say there’s a war anymore. The factions are visibly working together in a cross-faction manner in some ways. So don’t listen to Ion and follow canon. Hold your event.
WrA is really crazy about Cross faction events, even in the middle of the war we still had plenty of players going to them. I think generally the players themselves don’t like the war story and hopefully Blizzard understands that this time around.
