I feel you, but what you aren’t seeing is that was an option the whole time. People buy gold right now. The only difference is that if someone gets it from a token sale it doesn’t directly support botting, account stealing and resource monopolization.
That must have changed in the past few months then. I recall being unable to post AND having a post removed due to my sub running out.
Slippery slope. They are gauging right now, slowly they will announce it on here too.
My classic server is all of the above. It is all paid services with little amount of people playing content but raiding.
I returned to the game a month ago after taking a break in early Oct & thank the stars I leveled near 60 at the time because the leveling experience on my server (full and with hour queues on Tues & Weds night) is just people spending their gold boosting their alts through content all day & night & the gold spammer need a money vault like Scrooge Mc Duck so they can swim around in all the money they make carrying players through content.
Once I establish my main, I have to reroll a mage and spamming SM, ZF and Maraudon so I can have some gold because being a healer just doesn’t pay the bills.
Classic IMHO feel like Retail lite where gold spammers are the middle man & not Blizzard.
The incentive is the reward for doing so. If everyone around you is cheating and getting the same results, it’s discouraging. It will cause people who refuse to cheat on principle to quit. And yes, buying gold is cheating, whether it’s from Blizzard or a Chinese farmer.
OP you realize that you are subbed to classic already? You can’t forum post unless you’re subbed. Quit complaining.
It’s not a dumb question, just one I don’t have an answer for. And you can’t really ask on the technical forum as it is against the Terms to use other people’s accounts (unless they are your children using your account). See here:
I can’t recall when that came into effect but I’m fairly sure it was prior to the start of Classic. May not have been that much before but I don’t think its that recent a change.
I just checked my sub history and it was December 13th when I let my sub lapse for a few days and I was introduced to the “you ain’t got no sub you ain’t gon post” thing.
I don’t post in the normal forums or even visit for it appears to have been changed sometime between december and now.
Tokens are for China. Blizz did not say anything about bringing them to NA or Europe.
How are the higher ups and investors doing a terrible job, yet you praise all the artists, customer service etc a great job because they are only doing what their bosses want? Aka their bosses being the higher ups?
Like it or not it’s going to happen. It’s Blizzards only answer to the illegal sellers that actually made a demonstrable impact on their activities. So it’s one evil or another.
I’m not subbed right now. I can assure you I haven’t paid it lol. To prove this I could easily get on any of my alts and meet you in game as F2P in retail only. I just found out you can’t do Classic F2P.
Apparently I’m not allowed to be making posts here… lmao
The system hasn’t caught the fact I’m unsubbed just yet, If I logged out then It shouldn’t allow me to do it afterwards.
I stay logged in here at all times. So I guess it’s a bug I can post right now. I searched up other posts on the forum about this. Apparently some say you can now post without a sub, others say it’s the system from Blizzard that bugged out because when you don’t log out it won’t refresh or something like that when checking. IDK.
All I know is that I’m not subbed and I can make posts.
Hey people already buy wow gold. So now Blizzard wants a cut. Let’s be honest here. Activision looked at the profit and said yes here. This is a no brainer business move. People on my server got 60 and already had their epic mount while I was still farming gold for a whole month and a half. And don’t tell me they made their gold on the auction house. Naga please.
‘‘Tis only a game, you’re not actually saving a world.
Theres a difference between individual people doing shady things like selling gold for money and blizzard taking up the same greedy practice that makes gold worthless. You’re a fool if you don’t understand that.
Not for the Classic forums…
I guess I will find out for myself tomorrow when my sub expires.
On the flip side there is a good argument to add them. Tokens can only help get more people playing retail. (The true endgoal of Classic was to get people who they lost back giving the base game a try as well.) Myself along with plenty others gave the classic game a try and deemed the raids and classes to be boring. Now they could let us convert our gold to tokens so we can play retail. It’s a win win for both Classic and retail players.
All the tourists can cash out and the classic players that have trouble farming gold can buy it from a legit source instead of 3rd party sellers.
Even if they do a TBCC because retail is so bad and more people want TBC they will add a cash shop eventually to these versions. There are too many whales to not go fishing.
I cancelled my sub a while ago but I’m still here.
I’m not sure we have to worry about tokens in classic just yet, doesn’t Netease handle WoW in China? They don’t make content for it, but they tailor certain things like removing skeletons to fit within Chinese law, I can see it being possible that it was their decision to add tokens not blizzards.
