Kyrian is the true covenant anyways
What are you talking about?
The tier sets match the area they’re from.
I don’t think you’d have overly green, fel-spewing shoulderpads with skulls on it in a place of literal order and logic like Zereth Mortis.
I’d rather the match the tier sets to the area they’re from instead of just handwaving why the sets don’t fit the theme of the raid they’re from.
The sets from Sanctum fit their theme, no one complained about that.
See if I invite YOU to my tea parties.
Hmph
It’s not like they have manipulated and forced the boundaries of lore to fit whatever they want already… almost infinite times… A store bought giant flying cat agrees with you shockinly.
WoW apologists look like trolls now.
Now to the subject, yes, they could’ve fit a little corner for every class and used that as a intersection to imbue the sets with your class fantasy, but nope, multimillion dollar company can’t think that far and their minions have to make up excuses like the one above. It’s sad.
I wouldn’t think you’d find the most iconic knight-templar paladin set in a den of orcs and dragons either, but you did.
Honestly I think I like the idea of armor matching the area it is from rather than handwaving some certain things.
I think armor sets that ooze class fantasy would be far better. There’s a reason people are still transmogging single-digit tier sets today.
Enh, I’m a roleplayer. So I guess we can disagree and still be cool.
Yeah I’m not impressed by the art style of the sets either.
I’m a roleplayer as well. My characters would probably want to wear outfits that match them, not some architecture.
Except…
The opposite of this.
If the First Ones created the universe, and the First Ones created the powers and all that exist… Zereth Mortis is exactly where you would expect the find the most warlocky warlock armor that ever warlocked.
It’s the place that created that.
Same with Mage armor. DK Armor, etc.
That is to say… The idea that certain animals are intristically linked to these powers from the moment of creation? Instead, we should get set pieces that ooze the primordial magics that spawned these classes.
A warlock may not be a thing since the moment of creation, but Fel certainly is.
A Druid may not have existed yet, but nature magic? All up in that.
Ditto with elemental magics and arcane.
Yes, everyone complained about that lol. People have been complaining about raid sets not being class themed since they removed them in BfA.
Yeah I mean you’re the minority. Class sets for the most part have historically fit the theme of the class not the raid/zone. They gave you a greater sense of class identity.
These aren’t class sets. You can’t tell which armor belongs to which set. It’s the same thing they’ve been doing the past two xpacs except now they changed it from armor specific to class specific and they think that’s what people wanted which is partly true. Players wanted class set bonuses to return but they also was class set aesthetic to return as well and this is the furthest thing from that.
They basically used that an as excuse to say this is where everything began so everything that ever existed is in it’s most basic form giving us an excuse to use as little creativity as possible.
The warlock set looks passable as a paladin set.
I think the models are… fine. The color choices (or lack thereof) are questionable.
I do think the video showcased alternate color sets. The black ones looked decent.
Other than vanilla when have the sets not matched the vibe of the patch?
To the extent where the sets across all classes are similar and the main theme of the armor matches the patch? No
I mean if you go to wowhead just start from tier 1 and go through to tier 20 and look at the sets for different classes. Whether they were influenced by the patch in some way or not they are all for the most part very different from each other and actually fit the theme of the class.
The only good set imo is the Rogue set… DK set having one skull is kinda funny
These sets are so bad I’m genuinely in awe.
