So right now Kyrian is way more powerful for DH’s that want to do M+, it is mandatory for VDH but only “quite good” for HDH.
The question is how can I be assured blizzard will not nerf bat the covenant/legendary combination once M+ starts… exactly like they said they would not… but then again exactly like they said this situation would not occur?
Right now I am venthyr and feel I am going to be forced to swap based on how powerful the kyrian + Razelikh’s Defilement interaction is.
you cant be sure, I think covenants will be on a roller coaster of nerfs and Buffs, so just pick whatever you like the most.

Pick what you like and stick with it. Frequent Covenant swapping will not be allowed.

you cant. “keep em guessing” the current company motto.
They enjoy your anguish and indecisiveness

Then you’ll switch to bastion, the ability will get nerfed and you’ll be locked out for two weeks, plus even MORE behind renown.
Just make your playing the one you want.

You can’t be assured Blizzard won’t nerf anything. It’s kind of the nature of an MMO.
Actaully I don’t think the reknown catch up is not the issue, you can easily make that up from callings and the like, the issue would be building upgrades but mostly follower levels, I have 4 around level ~20, delaying only pushes the catch up time out further.
I want to play M+… not covenants. The throughput combination of Elysium Decree + Razelikh’s Defilement is way too powerful but it has been like that for a long time throughout beta (with a 75% nerf still keeping it well ahead of everything else). Choosing this covenant alone will likely add ~1-2 levels to the keys you can clear.
To me the soulbinds of other covenants should be offsetting this but they dont.
It’d be nice to think this but I’m pretty sure blizzard doesn’t care.
This is actually the only thing that frustrates me about this game currently, covenants should only be focusing around cosmethics and unique histories, if they want to give abilities, is should be only utility abilities not special ones that will give you advantages over others.

It’s certainly super powerful, especially given sigil talents really empower VDH in a unique way compared to any other covenant ability.
The decision is ultimately yours man. You’re not losing out on much if you swap.
I’m sticking to Venthyr, makes Torghast easier, enjoy it’s simplicity and will still be nice when I swap to VDH for raid tanking.
So how long will they allow it to go on? 1 week? 4 weeks? Thats what I am wondering, if I can play OP for ~4 weeks… then its very much worth that initial boost of clearing higher/faster keys with my guild because of the higher group throughput… then if it gets nerfed once the data is analysed so be it, thats 4 raid lockouts of gearing and all the gear from M+.
I am if they nerf it in 1-2 weeks. VDH is a very big outlier because of the legendary.
Nobody that would possibly attempt to answer this works at Blizzard, so we have no idea. No blue is going to tell you how long it’s going to take to nerf something.
Follow your heart, man. If you want to be Kyrian, be Kyrian.
Edit: If it helps, they nerfed a Prot Pally legendary that was overperforming… Yeaterday? Basically into the ground, afaik.
It’s likely they’ll bring it down to the same performance rather than lower. But you’re right still important.
