I want to replace the celestials with a non-combat pet

I don’t like how the celestials are tiny versions of themselves and in my case I can summon 2 copies of them.

I don’t have a super monk like replacement, but I would prefer being able to replace statues and celestial summons with a non-combat battle pet. I know it’s ironic because they are “non-combat” battle pets, but nevertheless I would rather have that due to the customization factor.

It makes some sense monk wise to have a little side kick buddy, at least potentially there wouldn’t be multiple celestials on the battlefield owned by different monks.

It would do all of what the celestials do but would instead be a pet of your choice. Restrictions on the pets could vary from race or spec, but not really necessary.

Maybe a glyph you give to the specific pet to, oh and it increase it’s size significantly too. Celestial option would remain the default I guess.

There’s already battle pet versions of the celestials. You can get them by doing the tournament on the Timeless Isle.

I tried before I think, I got whooped.

I want to summon a battle pet of my choosing to fight for me instead, and have it do the same things as the celestials ATM.

That’s not a battle pet, then.

Sounds like you’re wanting the Celestials to be permanent summons. OOC, there’s a lot of people who don’t like the summons at all, so I don’t think that will ever happen. IC, they’re demigod level beings - why would they hang out with you all the time? They’re busy.

I don’t.

Perhaps, I’d argue that it remaining the same celestial stuff makes it worse for those who don’t like summons at all. However, they seem to be points in the talent tree, so technically, it’s optional. Feels like they are necessary/optimal for some content though.

Yeah, fingers crossed it does happen though. I would be happy to reskin Niuzao to look like a battle pet. You’re probably right though.

Good point

I think I finally understand what you’re asking for here.

You want to be able to reskin the celestial you summon, like Xu-Fu, so it looks like one of your battle pets. Then you want to effectively feed it a permanent Magical Pet Biscuit, so it’s always big. And you want to always run around with you like you’re a Hunter.

Are you sure you’re playing the right class?

I will say being able to make minor alterations to a Celestial’s appearance at the Rostrum of Transformation might be interesting, though nothing to the extreme of making them look like some regular, mundane creature. That said, if everybody’s Xu-Fu looks different, are they still Xu-Fu?

I disagree with the notion that it’s like a hunter, more than it is a sensible quality of life improvement. As of right now, the celestials are already like hunter pets.

I mean, there’s more to hunters than pets and pets can be the core of the hunters identity especially looking from the outside, but with this monk change it would remain a minor and optional cosmetic change and would be a reflection of the character/player moreso than it’s class/spec overall.

You yourself said they are supposed to be at a demi-god level. Based off of what they do, not to mention their size, they are already acting as a regular mundane creature. Celestials are supposed be raid boss type of power, right? So it wouldn’t matter how you change the appearance of it, it’s not Xu-Fu. It may look like Xu-Fu but would be a poor representation or underwhelming reflection of Xu-Fu.

Though I am not against the idea of customizing the appearance of Xu-Fu in the manor you suggest, I just don’t like it as much as my idea obviously. I feel like there’s so many different battle pets to choose from that it gives Monks(me) an opportunity to be unique. An Undead Monk could summon a fellow Undead battle pet, or if you’re a Panderen you could summon that pandaren monk pet LOL. The options are ever expanding, and I think it would make the class more fun, don’t you?
