Hello, I was wondering what is the best server for alliance for Cata atm? Also is there any word on what will happen to our characters when Cata end? Will the servers stay up or will our toons be gone forever?
We don’t know what happens when this ends. We assume its retail roll overed. But no facts or statements to back that up.
What coast are your and do you not like pvp, or do you?
West coast pve is atiesh and is a decent home. its my pve alliance home.
Grobb for pvp is decent as I try out a char there. The thing is they have a faction lock. You have to check several times to see if you can make alliance there. I snuck in rogue one day after many checks lol.
East coast…benediction. Its 99% alliance so it won’t be fierce wpvp with the pvp its classed at. Pagle is the pure pVE one.
My advice is make an easy test char, see the chats and the AH (check out prices and such) to get a feel for the place.
Human I Like since its a 2 minute walk to see SW. so a quick test char setup.

It’s all but confirmed that we are getting Mists of Pandaria, so our Cataclysm characters will go to that expansion next. As for realm as Ivixia already said, if you want any PvP in the open world Grob is your only option, if you just want PvE focus I suggest just going Benediction as Alliance.
Just to point out, there is very active open world PvP on faction disparate servers, if wpvp is something people actually like.
Of course not everyone enjoys the tight knit, small community feel with ample wpvp, most often in underdog situations, but stating that it doesn’t exist is overlooking a significant enough portion of us that it is worth correcting.
Okay, sure. I would still never recommend a new player roll on a realm where they will be curb stomped out of existence every time they try to do something in the open world.
This has been already covered but here’s the easy to swallow run of it for future people.
Are you hardcore or casual?
If you are a hardcore Alliance player, PvEr or looking for a lot of arena players, go to Benediction.
If you are a hardcore Horde player, same as above, go to Faerlina.
If you are more of a casual PvEr, and a Horde player, go to Mankrik.
Likewise go to Pagle for casual PvE Alliance server.
Finally, if you want to see world pvp in any form because none of the above servers have it, go to Grobbulus.
And if you are a talking kangaroo, go to Arugal.
Nobody is suggesting that you should.
But at the same time, your opinion that Grobb is the only option for WPVP is quite misinformed.
And if you’re a PvE RP’er, come over to Bloodsail Buccaneers!
(PS, we over in Flying Hellfish are putting Horde on the board for 25 heroics!)

Welcome to Whitemane, the largest horde server on US-west.
Cata is the only expansion you can raid with only 10 people at the highest difficulty, hope you brought some friends 
Grobbulus because its a PVP server that’s reasonably well balanced (Cata Classic)

I would prefer a balanced Server, not heavily one-sided either direction…
