Hi there. Haven’t found any guides explaining rotation and what to focus on. I’m seeing videos where elemental blasts erases ppl…. So we cast ele blast as soon as it procs to be instant or only when we have 10 stacks of maelstrom ? Was hoping someone could point me in the right direction with some type of build and rotation (priorities). Mainly for solo queue and 2v2 in df.
It depends on your talent build, there is a talent that allows stacking maelstrom up to 10, and since ele blast has a long cd, it is best to stack as much as possible. If you don’t have that talent however, you should use it as soon as it is instant.
Edit: well, kind of. For pve it is good practice to wait until 8 stacks to avoid dead gcds, just make sure the ele blast cd is always ticking.
Thank you very much. I read in another post about using lightning bolt in your rotation? If you have the proc for instant spells why use lb instead of ele blast? Unless ele blast on cd?
Only when blast is on cd
If you want to maximize your damage in PvE as you get better later on, try to ensure you’ll have a charge and maelstrom weapon stacks available before using Elemental Spirits to get two blasts at +40% in that 15 second window even if it means delaying slightly for Elemental Spirits to come off cooldown. You may use lightning bolt in this case even if Elemental Blast has one charge up if you think you’ll be able to align the cooldowns since you have some flexibility with two charges. Otherwise, at higher levels, maelstrom weapon stacks come in quickly and you should use lightning bolt before over capping at 10 stacks.

I usally use all 3 for info and then go with my own conclusions. if you dont mind addons there is a rotation helper addon you could get it. It will suggest what your next ability be Hekili is its name. And you can use it as your learning your rotations.

If it’s mainly for solo Q/2v2, first go just get it out there as soon as possible, with wolves/doomwinds for quick msw building.
Burst rotation:
Wind fury totem>wolves>doomwinds>stormstrike>ele blast>primordial wave>lightning bolt>sundering
After this try and always use ele blast on 7-10stacks but it’s not so deep that you have to sit there watching stacks, when wolves are out 5 to 10 are all good dmg.

Should we be casting Elemental Blast back-to-back if we have 2 charges and 2 procs up?
You do not want to over cap on maelstrom. So you will always want to cast your instant cast be it LB or EB when you have 6-8 maelstrom. You will want to cast Eb on cd but over capping on on maelstrom is bad.
Heads up, they just nerfed all damage dealt by Enhancement by 25%.

Yeh I saw… but then again…. Ppl can’t see past them. This is meant for lvl 70 df. Who cares how it feels now. Enh shamans we’re critting for 200-400k. Is not the end of the world.
So nerf elemental blast and it’s modifiers, not gut the spec with a blanket 25% nerf. Why is this so hard for you to understand as you repeat yourself in multiple threads?
