I am relatively new to game, but when I first started playing, the real first person I saw just destroy MOB’s was an enhancement Shaman. Probably the coolest looking Mog, gear, dual wielding I have seen… So stupid me I come into these forums last night as I was going to use my 120 boost on one so wanted to read up… holy cow. Does anyone actually like playing them? I mean, I am not pushing top 1% stuff, but I want run, eventually, M+15 and higher and potentially some myth AOTC. My husband told me for my first toon I should do a Rogue because if I can master Rogue I can master any melee class. Well, I haven’t mastered a Rogue but I do well…
So what do you guys think? I don’t want to put all the time in if no one will invite me. My husbands guild will get me geared fairly well, quickly (though they have a wait list for raids so no luck there for permanent spot). Is it worth it to go do Enhancement? Or should I hold off til SL?
Thanks friends!
I don’t know what the pug opinion of Enh is these days, but they actually can pump good damage in M+ and raids (iirc, haven’t raided in a while). The biggest complaint is survivability: Enh arguably has the worst survivability in the game.
I enjoyed Enh for a while multiple times this expac, but the rotation at the end of the day just doesn’t do it for me. Imo if you think it looks cool and are really interested in playing it, then play it. You’ll never know until you try.
Has anyone looked at dodge as a reason why enhance is lower on surv than rogue/DH/hunter? I know it isnt on the stat sheet anymore but there are some macros that will tell you your dodge %.
I think it’s more about the cooldowns available than a bit of dodge.
Well enh/ele are getting big changes in SL, so enh will be play differently, more hybrid melee/ranged.
Every spec is viable, some require more work then others, what important is to put the effort to become good on a class that you actually enjoy to play and not because its best and you can go far in your wow career
I would recommend do a shaman trial class to get a feel of it and see if you will enjoy the gameay, if so then go for it!

I love playing Enh and Resto. Shamans are my fav class in the game. Don’t let the haters turn you away. Sure we have some problems but its not as bad as many say. The only place enh really struggles is in PvP. Otherwise it’s pretty middle of the pack. Not top tier but not bottom.
Many find enh’s rotation clunky and aweful but I don’t mind it at all myself.
