Title pretty much sums it up. I’ve mostly liked to play alliance because I prefer the races and by and large I agree with their values more than I do with the horde’s. I do play horde sometimes though (belfs, undead, and troll) because I can sympathize with my character’s desires.
Belf-revenge/elitism/ we are the best in as long as we are good that’s all that matters j
Undead-desire to spread undeath/horde is a tool of convenience
Troll- thrall helped us out and we owe him/ trolls are cool and chill and savage.
It would be easy for me to get into being an orc warrior or warlock because of the demonic past and thirst for blood and glory. But a shaman? Particularly a restoration shaman Is hard for me think of. I know thrall is a great example of what a shaman should be, and when I eventually go elemental i think I’ll feel more in line with my character but I just have a hard time getting into being a roided out really mean looking guy that is green from demon blood that is actually a nice guy who likes to heal lol.
And no, I don’t roleplay, but I get a lot of intrinsic satisfaction when I’m playing a character that fits the theme I’m going for.
Are there any cool friendly healer orcs out there? Should I just learn to detach from my character? Help me out please!
You could play an orc born after the demon blood (orcs born to green orcs were still green). You could play yourself off as being adopted by trolls (or tauren, tauren would be great) that took you in after your parents died.
you can still be a warmonger. just think of your character as a battlefield medic. A roided out really mean looking guy that is keeping the war machine rolling. you don’t have to be a tree hugging, fairy kissing elf to heal
Yeah it sounds like you might want to consider Tauren if you are all about the characterization. Remember the original cinematic…Tauren shaman standing atop a high bluff sprinkling dust into the wind?
Just read Rise of the Horde and you can see how the orcs aren’t just blood raged savages. I see orc shamans as the more “back to our roots” orc like Thrall.
