Yah, the 8-10 month spitegate is what’s keeping me from pre-ordering SL and will keep me unsubbed until just before flight is fully available. I don’t mind the achievement steps, just the spitegate. I would still rather have the option of buying at max level, even with a 4-6 week delay to satisfy those idiots who can’t be immersed unless everyone else is miserable.

The sad part is they are more likely to add an option to unlock it with real money instead of the grind than going back to a gold cost. Wait, they can just make it an insane amount of gold.

As I said before, I would pay $300 for a “Pathfinder pass” version of the expac. Thats only 2,766,120 gold at current token price. People were paying nearly twice that for the Auctionosaur. Frankly I’m astonished that Daddy Blizz hasn’t jumped on that gravy train.

I would rather do world content. I do think that at some point after unlock, a gold option should be added for returning players.

Yeah good luck with that one. As someone who likes the idea of that very much and would prefer it, it would need to be a valid amount of gold. Issue is when you talk about “Insane amount of gold” most people think that’s in the ballpark of 50,000 gold because to them that constitutes as “A lot.” People thought back in MoP that 5k for 310 speed was a lot.
If they did this, it would have to be in the millions and be character specific if you did that route. I personally would say 3 million is fair. Then offer Pathfinder giving it to you for free on all characters to make up for it being available at a much later date. Kind of like how the achievement for doing all the holiday achievements to get that mount later was patched to also just give you 310 flight speed.
make it 2.5m to buy with gold
$100 to buy on cash shop
or you wait 6 months for pathfinder

The irony of that would be you know there are people who would say that is too much money, but there would also be people who would spend far much more than that in tokens to buy it with gold. I have no doubt in my mind, namely because of forum posters bragging about it that they dumped their stimulus checks on tokens to buy the Brutosaur.
Though it kind of undermines it because you could just take a fraction of the gold, buy tokens and you’d be able to buy it with Blizzard Balance off 7 tokens with 5 dollars to spare for hearthstone packs or something lmao.

I still think pathfinder is A-OK. the whole timegating of part 2 however, is not.

I did neither.
And then, a week or so ago, suddenly my characters were able to fly in Draenor and the Broken Isles. They were very confused!
(So was I when my mage’s Hearthsteed just took off leaving a low rise 
.)
