I want to ask the wow community their opinion on a matter?

Um, hello I posted an older thread that basically implied that for most intents and purposes I have essentially quit wow (despite the fact) that I have a certain amount of game time. I believe at present it’s almost two years left on my account.

Though, last time I checked was the last time I actually logged into the game that I believe was already two months ago.

I have also deleted all of my toons except this new level 12 guy that I found I had no interest in leveling up.

I also didn’t buy the new expansion. I only did that once before when I took a break from wow and went over to ESO for three years I think.

So most of the expansions I have played pretty heavily. Yet, this time, I didn’t even give the new expansion a chance.

So what I am saying basically is that I have essentially quit. I have been playing older games in the last few months and have almost no interest in wow anymore due to a number of changes they made to the game.

Anyway, so what is all of this leading up to?

Just a question.

So I have I think approximately a year and 8 or 10 months left of game time. I bought this game time over an extended period in the past (before a number of changes) that I did not like happened.

So, essentially I feel I have quit wow at this time. However, it continues to bug me I have this remaining game time. I never expected to get a full refund from Blizzard.

So I didn’t ask them for that. However, considering that I feel I have quit wow, but I bought this extended game time in the past in good faith that Blizzard would not change certain things to be true to the game story world and what I call pre-established fictional foundations set up decades ago or as little as a few years ago and then were suddenly changed (that I thought ruined even some of the new lore); I did ask them for a partial refund.

I felt, hey they still get some of my money for time I bought that I have no intention to use at this time, but I at least get half of the money I spent back so I don’t feel totally robbed.

Do you think this is an unreasonable request. In any case, they refused to give me any money back. I just don’t feel this is fair because again I gave them money and in return, I got time but also putting my trust in Blizzard to not make a number of changes that went against issues I wrote above.

Don’t spend money expecting to see it again.

There is a process to get a purchase canceled/refunded but they’re only going to refund you if you just recently made the purchase. There is no “hey can I have like half my money back and you keep the rest?” option. Reasonable or not doesn’t really matter it’s just not something they do

If you order two pizzas and only eat one, do you expect them to take the other one back?

It’s certainly a harsh lesson to learn but you need to control yourself with preordering and large subscription block purchases. I generally only purchase a month at a time. I don’t want to end up as one of these sour individuals after they bought a large subscription block. If you look at how much you save you really don’t save that much with a long subscription purchase. It’s marginal with the amount you save.

You aren’t going to see your money back with a refund request.

yeah, as I said I bought this game in part to help them at the time and before they made a number of changes I just didn’t like.

I guess the point I am trying to make is.

Okay so say I bought two different cars. I’m not saying “oh I want only one car can I refund one of the cars and get some of my money back”.

What I am trying to say is imagine I bought two cars. Very different from each other but ones I liked.

Then the people who I bought the cars from come over to my house and go to the parking lot or garage where my cars are at and start making changes to them?

A number of changes I don’t like at all. Then I say, "hey what are you doing to my cars? and they say “hey we have authorization to make changes to the cars you bought from us whenever we like it’s in the writing” and I’m like mad, because I bought those two cars at the time because they existed in a particular form that I liked at the time of purchase and now the new changes to the cars have alterations I don’t like.

I know that they won’t give me money back for both cars but since now I don’t want any of these new changed cars being able to sell at least one back helps me a bit and they still end up getting at least some of my money anyway, regardless of if I hate the new looks and alterations made on both of the cars, I bought from them?

Reminds me of this thing I saw on reddit. ( so hey grain of salt if its true or not ) A mom bought a crap ton of sushi in a restaurant because she thought it was on sale. When it wasn’t and she got a huge bill, she kept trying to make the restaurant take the half she didn’t eat back

shudder

You own literally nothing on your account.
So blizzard didn’t “change your cars” or whatever garbage you came up with.

Unfortunately I don’t think there is much to be done in this case.

Was a bit foolish on your part to buy that much game time. Especially after bfa and sl. Personally I’ve always bought a max of 3 months at a time and I’m already angry at myself for that. Luckily my sub ends in a few days. Haven’t logged in for over 2 weeks at this point. So I’ve waisted money on this dated game, too.
I would suggest anyone, who is skeptical of this game to not buy more than 1 month.

Looking back now at how wow is compared to even the start of BFA I agree I was a bit foolish to buy that much game time during this stretch of time.

I have the same amount of time left and i’m not playing (at least right now)

No one made me. I don’t expect my money back.

No, see ya.

One day people will learn to go monthly and considering most people can’t seem to find that much fun for long and unsub alot why is this not a known thing lol. Some people don’t care if they got lots of time and disappear but lots do complain when they go away with tons of sub time like op funny funny.

No take backs.

I want to ask the wow community their opinion on a matter?

That’s one of my favorite things to do.

So, essentially I feel I have quit wow at this time. However, it continues to bug me I have this remaining game time. I never expected to get a full refund from Blizzard.

I regret not making enough money in WoD to cover me for 10 years through the WoW token…but on the bright side, I don’t feel like you do now…

The bright side is that you don’t HAVE to play the game now.

No one forced you to buy 2 years worth of sub time.

You made a poor decision.

I mean we all make mistakes it happens, on the bright side if the game improves ull ne able to drop in drop out.
I have played this game since I was around 15 being 34 now, I have seen most of it or played most of it. I normally take a month long break mid expac or towards the end I stop.

A good rule people forget, its ok to take a break.
Most games U will sit an play for 2 maybe 4 hours. WoW people play this like a job 14-16 hours a day EVERY DAY. Ofc u would burn out. Search for other games in completely different genres.

Major suggestion of a great game with tons of free stuff to earn Deep Rock Galatic. Hilarious mining game full of fun nothing serious and FOR CARL! ROCK AN STONE BROTHERS!.

Dear OP,
You can ask, but you will not receive. You decided to pay for something in advance so you have to live with that decision.

What I recommend is that you uninstall the game off your computer (and b-net too) so that you can move on.

Just learn that you should never ever ever pay for things in advance. Most often you end up wasting your money.
