As a Brewmaster I don’t mind being kinda forced to take Niuzao, however I don’t like the aesthetic and fantasy side of it. He’s not the same size, he’s smaller than some hunter pets.
I’d rather go tame a pet like a hunter and it also do what Niuzao does for the same duration.
This would allow monks to have a bit more customization and fun imo. I know it’s something branded as hunters only. However I don’t see why Monks couldn’t have this quirk. It makes more sense than multiple monks summoning the same or different wild Gods.
I don’t like the idea of pets other than the celestials. Ruins the whole vibe.

Full time celestial Yu’Lon gas blaster would be cool :3

I don’t think I can be friends with any of you anymore after those blasphemous statements.
Monks are not pokemon masters. No where in any of the cinematics or books or any official lore is monk a summoner.

Hear me out… WoW Monks are not Monks either.
That’s the problem.

That’s ok, I’m not looking for more friends

I stand by my initial stance. Despite the disagreements.
Monks being able to tame a pet that will do the same things for same duration is better.
Besides, they could just make a glyph to make the pet look like whatever wild god you want.
You are completely alone. No one wants this lol.

I disagree there’s probably an unspoken majority that agreed with me. For good reason.
Then go to the Timeless Isle and go farm the Celestial Tournament.

No, there are enough pet classes in the game. I hate micro-managing AI. The only reason I’m even playing Monk this expansion is because you no longer have to micro-manage SEF spirits because serenity is viable. I don’t like Xuen but it’s tolerable since it isn’t permanent.

This is pretty funny though.
Seriously, do you just want a Hunter tank spec? Brewmaster Hunter?
Hey, now there’s an idea…
The serotonin must flow!
Literally any class can technically tame a pet or shoot a gun. The Hunters don’t own all wildlife. A monk in particular could befriend a beast as well.
I’m more curious if this is something you just feel/want, or is there some sort of media that has made you think monk = battle pets?
Even in most popular media monk or fist fighter summons tend to be limited to copies of themselves or temporary animal summons that either help or augment the monks abilities like what we have going because these tend to be entities that we borrow power from.
iirc guild wars 1 you could multiclass so maybe finding a retro server of that would be a good option for you if you want to have pets as a monk.

Pretty sure the guy is just trolling. I don’t care enough to look up and see if its that Hokushin fellow on a different alt again.

I want this, it’s not the thing I’d want the most but it’s better than the summoning gods and making them look pitiful LOL. Hunter pets do more dmg. Truth is you’re not summoning Niuzao or any of the wild Gods because they would carry the group/raid. You are summoning a non customizable hunter pet you for a limited time. So yeah I feel/want.
Nope.
This sounds like the very last thing I would want for Monks. If anything I would prefer they become less of a pet class.
Thematically it suits monks way better to take on the celestial styles and invoke their power rather than summon the celestial itself.
This would also be more interesting and enjoyable from a game play perspective imho.
You can get a pet fix from playing Hunters, Deathknights or Warlocks. I dont think we need a fourth pet class.
