I want legion templates back

That was the right direction blizz, why listen to the idiots who want pve gear & legendaries allowed in instanced PVP? Look at the mess it created, in BFA it was the endless pve trinks & now we have to tolerate legendaries. You guys did the right thing once & you backtracked. Fools.

My issue with legion PvP was it was largely boring and forgettable. Trying to get rid of negative experiences the game just got rid of all experiences and made it uninteresting. At least for me.

No, template is ridiculous boring and unfun and uncustomizable.

When your biggest advocate for removing templates on the forums was Abombdadope, you know we got issues incoming.

I’d rather not play a rented character in pvp. I want to play MY shaman. Not some prestatted rent-a-sham that’s min maxed for only 1 build.

I’d say for the sentiment though they could have challenge modes for PvE/PvP like they do in diablo 3 where they give you a spec with a specific set of gear and talents and have you do a challenge. Let’s be honest that’s the only way Static Discharge is getting picked this ENTIRE xpac.

Do you legitimately run a different stat priority or are you just following the cookie cutter min max anyway like everyone else?

Yeah I always go for a weird stat allocation with atleast 30% mastery (I dropped below today bc of chest) and I run ascendance over stormkeeper because I want to use my sweet long cd burst move! Stormkeeper is better in every way and most people are just going vers haste.

Stormkeeper guarantees overloads so you don’t have to get as much mastery for it, which allows you get more vers

They could just make all PvP gear scale to max ilvl in PvP. Very easy fix. You can still offer gear progression exactly as you do now where higher rating=higher ilvl gear for use in other content.

If templates existed in bfa we wouldn’t have gotten full haste destro/gpie btw.

But get back to what you were talking about.

WoD Gearing system.

PvErs have an issue with the ilevel? That’s fine, make it so PvP gear is all around the same ilevel but scales in PvP.

No idea why they moved away from this, it was honestly such an amazing system.

What if they did it right instead of being lazy Blizzard? Like gw2 is basically templates, but you can customize your stat prio.

Hard to say GW2 did it right when no one plays it. If they did it right, it’d be popular.

Would love the WoD system back so much. I’d love to play alts lmao.

the game is good right now, there’s no need to regress to earlier iterations.

They did the gearing right imo. The actual gameplay not so much haha

By your logic, wow does nothing wrong because people play it.

They removed this system because it effectively shut down a large portion of the game for PvPers. PvP players were stuck doing only PvP while PvE players had the option to do either PvP or PvE with their gear. They said they wanted PvP players to be able to experience endgame PvE content.

They can though, PvP gear in WoD was still decent enough to start somebody out in raids and progress forward that way.

I don’t know any PvPer would was like “Wow, this system is garbage I want to PvE with my PvP gear.”

Boring is ok.

The gameplay should be what makes PvP fun. Not power accumulation.

Now, uncustomizable was the biggest issue with Templates.

If templates do come back (which would get me playing max level PvP again) they need to have a stat-allocation system so you can reforge your secondaries a bit.

Also, Templates should be active in WPVP and not influenced by ilvl. Legion gear still mattered because ilvl wasn’t totally irrelevant in instanced PvP (very relevant in WPvP), and the best way to gear was still PvE.

Any good PvP gear design needs to make sure BIS PvP Gear comes from PvP and anyone can get it in a reasonable amount of time without feeling unviable for being a new character.

Look I’m just giving you the reason that Blizzard gave. It looks like this current system is actually much better though because it’s fair for both PvE and PvP players since both can enjoy end game content for both PvE and PvP by getting the gear they get from doing their favored activity.
