TL:DR- this level 47 is the first time since Vanilla I’ve leveled a class that’s not a hybrid, and I’m already finding myself being annoyed that I can’t just tank a dungeon, or heal a group looking for help, etc. I doubt I’ll make it to 120 lol.
The rest: I’ve been playing Ret / Prot / Holy almost exclusively since TBC. I played Feral / Guardian / Resto here and there, but found myself hating Moonkin. The last time I played a Monk was in MoP. I did enjoy it then, I see a lot of people talking about how Monk doesn’t feel good anymore, that’s probably just these forums, but who knows.
If I want to melee dps, tank, and have a healer that has melee options, am I better off Druid or Monk? Glimmer Paladin has kept me enjoying healer longer than any other expansion. I want another dps-healer that’s NOT a Disc Priest.
I’m not a healer so take this with a grain of salt, From what I’ve heard from others Fistweaving (Melee Monk Healer) Is not that great after a certain point and isn’t viable in like… anything above M+6ish (But this is only gained from what I’ve read.)
As for DPS and Tank, Monk’s got ya covered!
That’s actually exactly what I’m looking for. Melee dps or tank for any serious content, melee healer for regular dungeons or even solo’ing certain things. I’ve heard a few people say Mistweaver can solo certain world bosses easier than WW or BrM. That kinda thing xD
Paladin. Ret and prot and holy glimmer build is a melee healer
Monk healers are amazing right now though. Especially paired with brewmaster.
For op id recommend what ever you enjoy the most. Monk will level quicker with the exp buff. When you play dps you can either go druid for ranged or monk for melee. It kinda depends what content you enjoy.
Though WW isn’t doing wonderful on the single target charts it is crushing pvp and m+.
MW is blowing raids out of the water with some people pulling 200k hps.
Brew is still the best progression raid tank and arguably the second best m+ tank, though all tanks are performing very well at this point.
I agree they are amazing, but I’m taking about fistweaving specifically.
The meta for m+20 right now is paladins and druids but to suggest that a fistweaver isn’t viable over m+6 is just flat out wrong. I’ll give you over 20 being a struggle.
That’s fair, only going on what I heard a while ago, I’m sure things have changed. I don’t heal so I have 0 exp with it.
That’s my main I thought I wrote that somewhere xD
Already leveling my Monk. If I’m doing anything in M+ at any serious level I won’t be healing anyway, I’ll be tanking
I have a 120 druid (playing mostly resto and boomkin).
I have a 112 monk I"m in the process of leveling (I like both WW and MW)
I love resto druids, I’ve played them since wrath (after switching from shaman in vanilla and BC). That said, I actually find MW to be a lot of fun as well.
Especially with Rising Mists, their DPS fits in seamlessly with their healing. With some other specs (say holy priest, shaman, druid even), when you’re doing dps, sure your hots might be rolling, but you’re not contributing with heals. With MW (particularly rising mist build), their kit just feels so synergistic, it’s great: you still heal and maintain your hots even while dpsing
