I used to think "NO FLYING" was a good thing

But after BFA and 1 year without flying. NO MORE of this sorry.

If the next expansion we do not start with flying instant. Probably I’m gone for good after 12years of playing.

If you don’t want to fly. don’t fly - But let the others fly simple as that.

Why is “no flying” parenthetical?

Let me save you the worry. No expansion will start with flying unless they suddenly decide to reverse that design choice. And if that happens they will probably give you a few weeks of warning to resub. But I wouldn’t expect it.

OP this dude is right. Unsub like right now and save ur money. Otherwise shhhhh and earn that pathfinder like the rest of us

Why is it so essential to you?

The world is easy to get around for the most part. It doesn’t take ages with smart usage of whistles and flight paths. Nothing is ever that far away.

I’m not against flying at all, but am merely suggesting that you think about why it is necessary for you and if it is the reason you aren’t having fun or if it is being scapegoated because it could bandaid something else.

Listen, that’s your playstyle… don’t force it on me.

I would rather fly instantly just like what flying used to be back then.

Good job avoiding the question.

Troll post?

So if I disagree with you, I’m a troll?

Well. Looks like you are done with the game then.

You skipped over the actual point of the post.

We aren’t even in disagreement. I like flying perfectly fine. You’d have known that had you read the last paragraph instead of just cutting out the first one. :stuck_out_tongue:

Flying is not essential to my enjoyment of the game. Does it add a lot? Yes. Yes it does.

Imagine for a moment. Taking every single car or mode of transportation away and instead forcing everyone to use public transit. This is the same idea as removing flying. Blizz gave us the taste of flight and then tried to remove it but couldn’t due to a huge back lash. So instead they made up pathfinder and now makes us wait a year before we can have that convenience back.

I used the analogy with cars because cars represent the freedom to go where we want and when we want. That’s why I didn’t use airplanes. You are still tethered to permanent destinations and can only fly on the airports schedule. Where as with a car you have all the freedom of where a vehicle can go anytime of the day. Same as flying in wow.

It’s not that it’s essential. I, personally, am bitter with blizzard’s design decisions and lack of “give a darn” about their customers except when money is involved. This new way of business for blizz is starting to look like EA and Activision corporate corruption levels.

While I will agree in part with you. I do now like having the beginning of the expansion without the ability to flying. Though for whatever reason this expansion has played like a bad song. I love the look and the fell of every zone, I just no longer enjoy navigating through them on a ground mount. I lost the luster of being on the ground about 6 months into the expansion. Which for me seem pretty short. I have been good with the previous two expansions as too when flying was introduced. This expansion feel, has left me exhausted. By this stage in the expansion I usually having all my previous level capped characters leveled through the newer content. This expansion however I have barely leveled half of them. I have felt so burnt out to the point where I had to go back to grind for tmog, mounts, and pet in previous content to take a break from the newer content.

Grinding through the new content yesterday made me want to fly even faster than I can gain rep. I chose my human warrior to grind through the new content, something I always start on my troll hunter, but since the human gets a boost in rep. The faster I am able to fly this expansion the better I am going to feel at this point in this content.

Again I like the zones, just not the underlining content that I literally have to navigate around at this point. At this point, that content is just damn annoying and tedious to navigate.

Mob density has been getting out of hand in the game for a while honestly. Heck, there are a lot of “roads” that are not even safe to travel.

I do not like how over populated the world is with NPC’s at this point, its gone too far. Traveling is a slog of being daze to the point that if I know I am going to be traveling through enemies I change to Tank Spec for the Daze Immunity. They are just everywhere in excessive numbers.

Honestly, I agree that Flying should make a return baseline but the world really needs to be designed around it well so Flying does not just invalidate content between point A and point B. However, the fact that with ground mounts getting from point A to point B is so tedious it does have me concerned on how well flying would be handled in that regard.

12 years ago, i assume you’re implying TBC era. Flying wasn’t instant during TBC, took most new players (who didnt come over from vanilla with some gold on hand) months, casual players even up to a year to afford to buy the flying training, yet alone the separate mount purchase, on top of the long rep grind for the vendor.

In addition, to this, you were only restricted to flying in the Outland, and the flight speed was slow as s**t +60% movement speed initially.

Maybe Blizzard needs to bring back all the restrictions of TBC era flight… restrict flying speed in the new expansion continent to +60% (aka slower than ground mounts) and cost 2 million gold to unlock ontop of having to purchase a separate special flying mount that cost 4 million gold… and an additional 4 million to unlock +100% speed, However on the flipside it will be available from day one after once you complete the TBC style rep grind to unlock the flightmaster/vendor…

I used to think no flying was a good thing… Still think the same way.

Watch as the game evolves to barren wasteland in a few weeks where you don’t see anyone anymore when playing. All you will see is people diving on the exact spot for WQs, killing and flying off.

So great for a MMO! /sarcasm

I thought it was pretty rough in Legion that by the time flying was unlocked, we only had about 1 month of it being useful before Argus came out and took it away again.

Flight went from something to enjoy each expansion to something that if you blink you’ll miss it. One or two fleeting months every two years it comes around, and then it’s gone again.

Anyone who thinks that way should just play Vanilla.

Players who maybe didn’t play the game maybe or played like 1 hour a week lol. The initial flight cost was a joke to farm. Tradeskills could earn you slow flight in a few weeks. I had epic flying after a month.

I had epic flying after a couple of months. If you applied yourself it was easy to get.
