I definitely agree that the content feels worthless. I just want to reiterate that many people (not saying you, OP) also argued that a lot of content shouldn’t give rewards and should just be “for the experience.”

Forbbiden reach was never meant to be a major content update, it was a x.x.5 patch, which commonly in the past hardly ever gave us anythig outside of maybe a few daily quests, and a tuning pass, so the fact we got all of forbidden reach as it was, was pretty damn good.
Oh absolutely, I actually think Forbidden Reach was a huge success. What I mean by “vs. Forbidden Reach” is that we super engaged with that content despite it being holdover content, yet the caverns are basically dead on arrival it seems like. I feel like everyone I played with went to Forbidden Reach, but almost nobody has really done caverns past the first week.
I personnally have retail on a 10.3 (or 10.2.5, whichever gets fixed first) return when ripcords are found and then pulled lol.
Its not helping when I do lore catch up on youtube cut scene montages and go…I’d actually be kind of ticked off if I actually worked to watch that those cutscenes.
This loot in this game is so cringe at time. All the regular rares in the rest of DF lands: i do it on a plate i get cloth/leather/mail…do on a cloth i get plate. What ever happened to getting loot of a rare YOU CAN USE???
Rare health needs to start off at a lower level and only scale up once multiple people tag. Previous expansions handled rares much better. DF is a regression in game design.
This is what worries me.
Open world content rewards have been nerfed to the point of being nearly worthless. Meanwhile, solo players and smaller parties can’t even complete the main content.
Are game devs hoping that open world content metrics go so low that they can use that as an excuse for not developing it anymore?
All the Explorer gear from Zaralek Cavern should drop at 398—period—with no upgrades needed.
Why are we getting 376 drops when the previous zone awarded 385 gear with easy upgrades to 395/398?
Flightstones don’t even need to exist, considering that Crests have a weekly lockout and have the function of allowing us to upgrade our gear based on the content that we do.
We (those that dont raid or M+) can get 415 from the weekly heroic dungeon quest and 4 tier researcher event that we can upgrade with drake crest to 424 then we need wyrm crest and as far as i know we can get it from the vault if not picking a loot piece. Im ok with all this I dont expect to get high item level quick and thats ok atleast i have something to work towards
I’ve been saying the same entire expac as this always happens to me too. I start as my rogue it gave me plate or healer items or strength trinkets or just things I can’t use in general so i kill rares on a cloth user it gives me leather…then on mail it gave me cloth… this system is so crazy I hate it. Only certain rares guarantee to drop a certain item but I kill rares in Azure span who are supposed to drop strength trinkets and it gave me a worthless greatsword several levels lower than what I was already using instead on my paladin. Now rares in zaralek give me nothing but shards or nothing at all… how is this RNG how is this fun…who defiled who’s cheerios and forced the system to be like this?
Your not the only one that happens too …I play BM Hunter and I am always getting flooded by sorry to say this now mostly clothie classes or non pet classes for me to act as their Tank with my pets…well I am lucky in my class to put a stop to that mess right away …I dismiss my pets and feign death and just lay there and laugh when the mobs turn on rest of those with no pets to stop the mobs and die most times…once the mobs have turn on them I get up and walk away and just wait for the fools to leave.
Now if a non pet class asks me for help I’ll gladly help anyone out but Don’s assume right off when you walk up to the area I am your automatic Tank now.
I believe in the hunter class hall there is a tome called Play Dead that gives your pets a feign death too which helps if you don’t wanna keep dismissing them. Should also be a handy tome for the move Fetch as well that has your main pet loot corpses for you so you don’t need to get into hostile territory to get your loot. Yeah though it really is annoying people act so rude seeing a pet wielding class and just assuming they’ll tank things for them, although it’s massively rude for say a warlock to see another warlock waiting on people for a rare only to use their pet to pull every single mob in the entire area and drag it to the other lock who’s pet then reacts as the mobs lose their target and stab the lock who was quietly waiting for a group. I swear I wanted to tear that other lock a new one as I then died to their pulled mobs and as I’m running back I see that lock had friends pop up and kill the rare I was waiting for and they were all sitting there laughing and T bagging my corpse. I’ve never hated people more than I did right there as they didn’t need to off me just let me help kill the dang rare, get what little loot it offers me and I’d be on my way… but nope after I rezzed they resumed stalking me till I just said it wasn’t worth the stress and flew off to Loam and quit for the day. I only logged on for a better staff but the world quest was saying nah so what reason did I have to stick around
Yeah I have those but in some situations I end up in dismissing the pets was for the best thing to do it depends on what mobs are around…but like you I hate when other think your going to be their tank for them…as I said I don’t mind helping others if they ask for help …but don’t assume cause I am a BM Hunter I become your personal tank out in the wild.
Because Mythic + is for elitists. And that Keys are not accessible or inclusive in the group finder tool. It’s a hot mess express. Kill a rare, save a key.
Dude…I was doing that quest on an alt and someone was TROLLING HARD…kept pulling stuff onto me and i died so many times. I just thought it was idiots but after reading your post…it all makes sense.
My hunter is able to do things like that solo. I was even in a group doing that quest and we got trolled and wiped a few times.
It was a survey one where you had to kill mobs to fill a survey meter… i must have killed like 40 mobs to get the meter filled up, and when i finally did, nothing happened, no reward, and the quest just went away.
I never did anything else in there again. People complained about zereth mortis… this is SO MUCH worse.
By putting in forced group world activity under the belief that this will somehow foster more open world involvement and cooperation, what actually happens is that more people leave instead because there simply isn’t enough population to pull this off. The net result is that increasing amounts of people get frustrated by the new content effectively being denied to them and more and more people leave. The fact that ZC is dead compared to the FR is proof of this.
Oh man the complainers in this thread are gold. “Rares have TOO much hp… oh no i cant solo a rare! Better nerf it so that every enemy everywhere can be solo’d cause solo players are the majority!” As a solo player you should expect to be barred from some content. Its called an MMO, full stop. It is hilarious that even Brewa came out to misinterpret a post and go off about how m+ is so unfair to him wah wah. What a victim.
