If you’re big into lore and the experience, it’s perfect. If you like PvP, and just getting to the endgame, then WoW is much better. Graphics wise it blows wow out of the water but that’s obvious. Overall I’d say it’s not enough to make me want to completely quit
Boob slider!
Its different then wow for sure gives me the old Guild wars 1 feeling mixed with some Starwars the Old Republic storytelling. So far ive been having a good time!
That’s a fair judgement.
/sigh
It’s a toss up for me right now. Love both games. Each have their merits.
Warcraft’s been my cup of coffee since the 90s. Met so many friends on this game, I can’t count and their really what have kept me more than Blizzard. But yet more and more, I find I cannot support Blizzard’s hyper political slant these days.
At the same time I love Final Fantasy, but there’s a couple of things I miss from WoW about it. I like the Amano style art, and am kinda on the fence about the in-game style. It works but the cartoony side of WoW definitely has it’s appeals.
The lack of Factions is a plus. The lack of focus on PVP also a plus. That there is no delusion of this game being an E-Sport is a complete and total home run. They also do a lot of other things right, though they could do better. WoW beats them on stuff like Transmog, while FFXIV beats them on how to acquire said transmogs.
I miss the days when politics were not important, and people were united simply by a common love of the franchise and tried to do the best they could for it regardless of their personal feelings.
By contrast we now have people on both sides that look on the other side with contempt, and spare no expense in trying to make decisions calculated to drive anyone who disagrees with them away, or worse. We need a solid middle ground again, and politics and personal views need to be shelved for a focus on what unites us as humans.
This is hard to do when some Developers and Authors rant as they do on Twitter.
Were I in charge, I’d send a broad 0 tolerance policy out that sliced both ways with total impunity. No Politics. No ranting at players, no weighing in on social issues; or even engaging with them if you are not in Customer Support.
The forums exist for game issues. Not for anything else. If it’s not on the Topic of WoW, it gets deleted. No exceptions. The Forums are not for soapboxes, not for demands of the Developers, and not for popular causes, leaks or speculation that may or may not be accurate.
If you have a Private Twitter, then while you work for Blizzard you keep it exactly that. Private and Protected. This is done to protect the company’s image as a whole. The End. If you can’t do that, then you can resign by the day’s end. For if you are found to have violated this rule, make no error, regardless of your rank or seniority in the company; you will be fired by day’s end.
No more nonsense. Be professionals or be replaced by those who will be.
Sometimes, someone has to be the Warchief like that.
If you like pvp start playing mobas, cancel wow sub and sub to the superior mmo experience FF14.
No FOMO or meta in FF, which is nice and things stay relevant throughout all expansions.
FF pvp def needs more work. The raids are different than WoWs but fun nevertheless
I just wanted to say I love you avatar. That is all.
+1
This belongs in the off topic section.
Haha. No time to transmog…gotta GoGoGo!
Don’t, it’s actually one of the best on here. Between you and nobully, they both make me smile.
They need to double the size of the glam dresser or make a system like WoW.
I have no more space!
Not gonna lie, sometimes I feel like I’m playing the wrong MMO. WoW’s reliance on FOMO definitely feels like they’re taking advantage of players at times.
Though at the same time, while it looks to be the superior game, FF14’s races all seem to just be based on fetishes and I can’t look at them without cringing. WoW definitely knows how to pull off visual appeal, comparatively speaking.
FF14 has better content and game systems. But it’s just so… lame.
In WoW when I’m on my paladin and I throw my shield at someone, it looks like a clean glowing holy shield and it makes an incredibly satisfying CLANG when it hits.
In FF14 when I use “shield lob” on my paladin, I throw this ball of sparkles and it goes twinkly-beep when it hits with zero feeling of impact.
And that’s the combat for the whole game. Nothing feels cool or impactful. Its like cutesy-combat for little kids. Every time I got a new ability while leveling, pressing it was just more disappointment.
If you guys have done trying the game can you please delete your character so i can create one?
I think this is generally how I feel about it. I started in 2015 and played all the way through last summer. Each game fulfills a different need for me.
WoW is mmo Fortnite style game, and good for people who like Fortnite (collecting skins, buying things for money, getting everything fast, no complicated gameplay, easy story). Is just McDonald’s in the mmo world.
But here you are, eating at McDonald’s every day. Its okay to admit that you like it. It really is.
Here, we can do it together so you feel more comfortable; try saying it with me…
“I like WoW”
Playable characters have too much neck, not enough head. Kinda distracting.
Said it before and I’ll say it again, I can’t stand FFXIV’s archaic UI. The rotations are too long and proc-based for a game with such limited customization. This isn’t a case of “git gud” because the devs KNOW this is an issue, hence you being able to get away with using 3rd party programs.
I would be gone in a heartbeat if they would allow addons.
Play Dragoon. The three bar limit break where I get a giant dragon spirit behind me while I make the finishing blow on a boss is just epic.
Also overall the Dragoon abilities are very good looking.
