I tore my rotator cuff

… and now I can’t play WoW. At least easily. Looks like my season might have been cut a little short. It looks like I have weeks of physical therapy ahead of me!

Are there any games that you all recommend on PC that I can play with one hand (and using mostly a mouse?)

Thanks all! :purple_heart:

You can try modifying WoW to play with a controller, other than that the one game I can play most easily with one hand and derives hours of enjoyment…

Vampire Survivors.

League of legends/lost ark can have all their abilities keybound to a gaming mmo mouse

A lot of small steam games can also be all mouse, i havent played 7 days to die yet but i’ve heard a lot about it, could be worth checking out

Otherwise connecting your switch to your pc monitor and enabling single controller mode if the game supports it is pretty solid

Never heard of it! But if I can play it with one hand, I’ll definitely look into it.

Tried this and unfort, not a fan.

Never tried this one though!

I will definitely look into how to do this.

Just need an hdmi cable between the switch port and your monitor and to have the power supply connected to the switch console, select the hdmi input on your monitor and it’s good to go (doesn’t work with Switch Lite)

If you have a 12 button mouse, I have a havoc DH build that’s actually sort of okay. About 73% of optimal simdps, nothing amazing but can be done on one mouse

You still got 2 idle feet while gaming. Time to practice using the keyboard with your feet :slightly_smiling_face:

That really sucks. I wish you a speedy recovery and to make sure you do what your physical therapist says.

Throwing out the classics but rollercoaster tycoon/red alert

How’d you tear it?

If it were me I’d do wow stuff that only required 1 hand, like gathering  You can farm up some gold for your return

I wouldn’t even bother playing. Just do the PT every day or you will come to regret it.

Assuming it’s not your mouse hand, I’d strongly recommend an Azeron device.

I use a “classic” myself, but there are two newer versions out there.

Solid arm rest, minuscule finger movements required and very little pressure need be applied.

Tiny bit of a learning curve, but I figured it out in about 3 days and I’m old AF.

Check out the Battletech Game on Steam (or you can get it really cheap at good key seller sites for Steam).

It’s mostly one handed mouse play, with tab targeting, and that can be assigned to your mouse. There really are very few actual key strokes in the game.

Not to mention there are some freaking AMAZING mods for the game like Battletech 3025 Commanders Edition, which is basically a fan made expansion that’s honestly better than the base game.

Tons of Mechs blowing up Mechs. Plus you deal with random story events, and manage your Mercenary business amongst the inner sphere. 3025 has a complete timeline that includes the Clan invasions and beyond. You could easily rack up hundreds of hours if not more in a single career mode. Plus the campaign story is pretty darn good too!

If you like turn based games, you will love Battletech!!

I think strategy games might rely less on keyboard usage. I’ve enjoyed the Civilization series of games and I don’t recall using my keyboard much.

I am smart but goodness, technology is my weakness. God had to nerf me somehow.

I don’t but with an 8-16 week recovery time, I might look into it!

Oh don’t test me, I will do it. :purple_heart:

Thank you! I love tycoon games so I may go back to Planet Zoo, Zoo Tycoon, etc.

It’s an embarrassing story but I’m rather short and my closet is rather tall. That’s all I’ll say about the matter. :joy::purple_heart:

I’ve been warned. :sob:

Thank you for the solid advice! Luckily it isn’t my mouse hand.

I’ve never heard of it. I’ll look into it! I am making a list.

I love civilization!

I’ve been through two such injuries and a gaming mouse has made the difference.

I hurt my shoulder by jumping to see if I could touch the top of a garage door (it’s a really tall doorway, not a home garage door)

I hope you get better soon though!

I may or may not admit to having rollercoaster tycoon downloaded on my pc.

I prefer the term vertically challenged when I describe my wife :joy:

Okay, so hear me out.

If you lean your chair all the way back and only put your wrists on your desk while resting your arms on the arm rests, your shoulder pain should be minimal.
Put your keyboard at the edge of your desk too.

Make sure your chair height is properly adjusted for max comfort.

Basically just like the fat guy from the wow south park episode (not cartman)

I read an article (well, I only read the headline) about someone beating Melania in Elden Ring with one hand. I’ve never played the game so I don’t know if that’s an accomplishment or not, but you could give it a shot. Or maybe turn-based strategy games like Civilization?

I hope your recovery is quick and as painless as it can be.

Just be careful with it, I had a household member get a torn rotator cuff and they just tore it worse going back to work and now they’re too disabled to do anything.
