Right before the Naxx started I thought it was a good idea to take a break for a week or two. And since then I just don’t feel like going back. Is there anyone else in the same situation?
I had this but this happened to me waaaay back.
First started Classic the moment it launched. It was great. I never seen newbie areas so chock full of life. But kept second-guessing my choice of characters and rerolled a couple times. I took a short break and…never got back. I tried going back several times but going from having such a large surge of players to being just as dead as Retail was discouraging. Being on Bloodsail (especially as a Horde player) it’s difficult to find a guild that plays when I play, and it’s hard to break into an established group so late in the game.
I’m excited for TBC Classic for many reasons but one of my biggest reasons now is I plan on just powering through a couple characters to 60 so that when TBC finally comes I can get that same launch rush that was so magical going through the Dark Portal and maybe I can fall into a new guild or an existing one recruiting for the new content.
Also because Bloodsail has a very small Horde population I’m hoping that Blood Elves give it a population boost.
I wouldn’t count on walking through the Dark Portal on Bloodsail. The most probable set up is TBC having its own drop down on the launcher like Classic and Retail do now. If they let you copy your current characters to TBC then come to the forums first and find you a good one. We all knew what the good servers were going to be when we got to name our characters early.
If I were you I would either pay to transfer the ONE character I wanted to play now to a server that serves your needs or reroll fresh. And for Pete’s sake when the time comes pick ONE character and commit to it. Classic/TBC are not the type of games where you can play a bunch of alts from the start and have success. Sure once you have your 60 rolling and can support a 2nd or 3rd character go ahead, but get that first guy set up with an epic mount (flying too) and some gear first. Waffling/rerolling/altitis is going to put you behind the curve every single time on this game.
This is all good advice. There’s a good chance that TBC will be fresh only or transfer as opposed to existing servers being rolled over.
I think I’ve settled on Tauren Hunter. Favorite race, favorite class. If I want another character later I’m sure there will be plenty of new Draenei and Blood Elves being leveled up. I only wish I knew how TBC servers were being rolled out so I could plan in advance but who doesn’t?
Either way, whether it’s waiting for the ball to drop and the Dark Portal to open, or the opening of a fresh server (either at level 1 or transferred), I’m excited.
They will probably tell us at Blizzcon in February. I would expect it to be sometime in the 2nd half of 2021 so you have plenty of time.
I waffled between Hunter and warlock for my main but I did it the week BEFORE we got to choose our names. Tauren Hunter is solid choice especially if you get to take him to BC. Warstomp is really nice for hunters in pvp.
For sure. Even if I level a Tauren Hunter in Classic and find out I have to start fresh for TBC I’ll just remake him no issue. But somehow I can’t imagine they wouldn’t at least do some form of character transfer, even if it’s only one character.
you’re missing out on the best raid in classic so far
Maybe those of us who have not done Naxxramas are missing the worst raid in Classic.
Black Wing’s Lair was what I wanted to do most in Classic, and I was curious about A’Q40 and Naxxramas. All of the raids so far have been fun. None felt like a waste of time, gold, or effort. As I inferred in the first statement, I have not yet entered Naxxramas, but I have watched a video and a small portion of a stream. All I got from watching is that the place looks cramped. The many bosses all positioned in quaint focused areas a jog from each other gives the sense that its floor plan is like a big gym. It is laid out for industrial farming. I was glad to see trash mobs still littered between bosses, but they do not stop me from feeling like the environment is too task oriented. It is an omen of the daily task robot design that retail embarked upon. It’s terrible really. If not for the interesting mobs and mechanics to keep the mind busy it would be a raid I would skip. Sure, I want the gear, but the trouble to acquire it as a hunter is beyond what should be. It’s bad enough that playing hunter in Classic vanilla feels like a cruel joke, starting with the deadzone on a PvP server and with Molten Core after receiving the Rohk’delar/Lohk’delar/quiver quests on any server type, but the final raid appears to be the true test of this hunter player’s will to care anymore. My rescue will be Classic+ (praying for it) or Classic TBC. Outland is blah. Sunwell is boring and has true dailies, so yuck, but dungeons, raiding and gear promises to be worthwhile throughout the expansion.
Anything beyond BWL is a waste of all those things as a Hunter.
Took a Prot Pally up to 50 before calling it quits due to a crap guild and life. Getting the classic itch again for TBC. But have no idea if I should wait to find out exactly what TBC roll out will be or take a chance at releveling a new char on a new server.
Well it’s a floating fortress, it’s gonna be cramped. Idk how you dislike naxx. The ambiance is great, music is perfect. The trash has mechanics but isn’t an awful slog like the trash in aq. Bosses have fun mechanics and require teamwork.
No, many are like you because Naxx is overrated.
It’s long, boring and the gear ranges from insane to shard food. There’s no middle ground.
AQ would be the superior raid if it wasn’t for the terrible mobs after Twin Emps and C’Thun.
A lot of it is aesthetics, mechanics, and feel. Naxx is just better than aq at all of this.
We are all entitled to our own opinions. I 1000% disagree with you but oh well. Aq40 is probably my least favorite raid in all of wow. Mc is pretty boring as well, having to go back for bindings killed it for me.
That means you were addicted and now that the game is not in your head nothing is compelling you to play.
