I don’t know, I’m just asking because I’m a little paranoid lol. I know that saying offensive words is against the rules, my primary language is Portuguese, but from what I researched “shut up” can be offensive.

But it’s a non issue. Even if they reported you, nobody cares.

I was banned for 6 months under reason of “botting” (literally one and only time I have ever been banned) and no matter what I did, nothing came of it and I had to deal with it.
For the record, I’m someone who barely understands how to add steam patch files / mods and scared I’ll screw something up, no way in hell do I know anything about botting or how to do it.

Of course I don’t know perfectly, I live in Brazil and I don’t know anything about your culture. Something may be considered offensive here and may not be in other cultures.
For this reason I’m asking if this could be offensive enough to trigger a ban.

oh absolutely not lol. In fact during a battleground today, we had a warrior in our group that just would not shut up and was yelling during the whole 45 minute event. Finally I went absolute Richard Pryor/Andrew Dice Clay on him and like 10 other people piped up and cheered. My account is still very active, and I am also still waiting on a phone number I asked him for.

Unlikely.
It takes an established pattern of bad behavior- especially if you’re not disguising screaming slurs at people as ‘shut up’- to get banned.
Plus telling someone who’s resorting to trash talking their own team to shut up is technically, objectively correct behavior. Although I’d just report the person trash talking for gameplay sabotage and leave it at that if you’re in pvp. Because that’s what trash talking is.
I may be wrong on this but I think there’s a penalty ladder you have to climb before they action your account. I don’t know if the social contract changed this, it may be an old system. Unless it’s something really bad, which what you did isn’t really.
And honestly, telling someone to “shut up” in pvp is pretty mild if that’s the worst you’ve done.
