I got up and had my coffee. I then read some news on various sites. I then thought to myself, “I’ll check out Facebook.” It was asking me to log in. I remembered my password…but it didn’t work! I’ve been hacked!!! … but I wasn’t. It appears that Facebook is down right now.
I was hacked once in WoW during Wrath. It took me a week to get my acct back, and when I did, my character was max level and max herbalist.

Well, I was leveling my priest, and it was at the beginning of Wrath. My Priest was probably lvl 77 or 78 when it happened, and I was working on herbalism.

Far from the truth. My wife and I were questing together. It was a beautiful winter morning in Northern California. All of a sudden, I was disconnected! I asked my wife if she DCd as well, but she didn’t. Then she told me that I was logged on…but I wasn’t. My wife ended up messaging my character, asking why he/she was doing what they were doing. The only thing we could gleam from the person was that it was their job.
I just discovered this. I wonder what happened…it feels strange cause i talk to so many people thru it.

Detective ICU dug further into this case and has gleaned all the pertinent info and knows the truth. Upon further investigation the hacker happened to be your side girlfriend who often used your account when you weren’t on. Once you told her it was over she logged on and told your wife everything. Busted
She doesn’t know how to play WoW.
It seems Detective ICU is not very good at his job. More training is required 
Hah… me too. My first thought was “someone must have gotten my pw somehow”… followed by what am “I” trying to peddle off to someone due to my account being hacked? lol.
It is somewhat of a inconvenience as we are cleaning out my parents house for it being sold (they are elderly and have downsized) and I’ve got some pending pickups today of a lot of stuff from their house. We were using FB Marketplace and messenger to coordinate everything.
Same. For the last 10 minutes Ive been trying to update my password figuring a hack occurred
so I skipped the entirety of Wrath and Cata.
When I came back my account had been stolen.
I got in touch with Blizzard and they helped me recover it–took a few days. When I got in I found my toons had all been stripped clean. It was such a total loss that the CS rep went a step further.
I had another account and the CS rep offered to move my favorite 3 toons from the old account to my new one. I still have the old account but it’s dormant at this point…
Perhaps the best CS experience I’ve ever had.

My account got hacked in cata. The person who hacked me abandoned all my spirit beast, deleted my heroic gear and had an extra 200k gold on it. Blizzard got my gear/pets back and let me keep the gold.
