I thought I wanted Classic, but...

I thought I wanted Classic, but I don't think I do after playing the demo.

Let me preface this by saying I started playing in May 2005. I loved Vanilla, because it was my first MMO. Then as I started hearing about and playing other MMOs I learned that WoW was easy mode compared to older games like Runescape, EQ, Asheron's Call, Lineage 2 and more.

But today, playing as a Hunter once more in Classic I realized how many quality of life things I take for granted in Retail. I'm not even talking about Dungeon Finder. More mechanical things (and maybe Heirlooms, which i worked hard to earn over the years).

For example, my pet can be Aggressive, Defensive or Passive. If he's aggressive, he goes after any mob in range that is red, but also attacks my target. If he's defensive, he doesn't attack my target until I tell him (I COULD macro it to all my abilities but...) and Passive works just like Retail. Well, I've been spoiled by the Assist mode or whatever replaced Aggressive, where my pet just attacks my target and doesn't go wild on anything I haven't attacked yet.

But there's just so many other things that yes, I remember now, but I realize are just...slower...than what I remember. I played for maybe a half hour before I just hearthed to Crossroads and Exited. I'm going back to Retail for the rest of the weekend.

So the demo was good in that it showed me that I really don't want Classic. I'm glad it's included in Retail, because I'm not sure I would pay separately for it.
Uh... cool?
See. You thought you wanted classic, but you didn’t.
I loved my time playing my hunter. So much more enjoyable than Current WoW. I've been very impressed with the Demo. Until the phasing, and Lore's apparent statement that sharding will exist even at launch.
I just realized that I don't want you to play Classic. Apparently playing the easiest class in the game is too hard for you, when most others have commented on just how overpowered they feel. Please stick to licking windows, playing retail, and other less difficult activities.
great
classic is not for you
and there is nothing wrong with that
So this whole time you've been wanting Classic you forgot what Vanilla was like and you decided you don't actually like the gameplay? Honestly this isn't even Vanilla, a lot of things are off about this demo.

But whatever, don't play Classic when it comes out then.

Does this vindicate Back?

That's not how vanilla worked...

Defensive he went for whatever you attacked. And if you not attacking he attacked something on you.
Lol hunter lacking QOL in Classic. Some people really miscalibrated their expectations. Didn’t even have to endure the 1-10 inconveniences the hunter class imposes.

The correct action here is to always have your pet on passive and have keybinds for pet attack, pet passive (which will stop attack and walk back to you), and hold position.

If this bothers you, fine, but stuff like that is one reason I want to play Classic.
