I think we really need to make blizzard tell us if we keep our toons for TBC

Either decision, I don’t care, I just care for the knowledge of what will come so I can know if I am wasting my time leveling another toon right now. Think of your customers blizzard.

They will not wipe Classic servers for TBC.

There is the issue of how or if your Classic toons will port over, but they will NOT eliminate the Classic servers.

That’s just not going to happen.

How do you plan to “make” them tell you?

yeah… that’s not gonna work. How about we wait for an actual confirmation on BC servers first?

If you’re having fun, is it a waste?

We’re not going to find out anything until Blizzcon in February at the earliest.

Others have made a post asking for information. I have too. A-B’s silence is also communicating something. If A-B was excited about something, and they wanted us to get excited about it, then something would be said long before it happens. Nothing has been officially said. That silence should tell you everything.

The first thing we can extrapolate from silence is that A-B is not about to tell us what we’d all prefer to hear. Consider a Spring release in the worst way. Consider a Fall release or later. Consider a “we haven’t decided yet.” There are two ways this will go down. One is that a brave heart in a leader seat at A-B will make a release happen in May, but it is an awful approach that ends in disaster. Two is that it is delayed until people don’t care anymore. Pick your favorite and hope for that.

I think A-B is capable of doing what the leaks suggest; however, the silence is saying too much about maybe an unwillingness to follow through. There are plenty of smart people at the helm of A-B and in its service. They don’t have to be told that players will deem the silence as rude, since player irl schedules need to be made and no one wants to waste time with such time intensive stuff. They are not saying anything. Get it?

Just pointing out that most folks in A-B where probably on vacation last week. I think many of the folks posting on this topic are reading way too much into the silence.

BlizzConline is where any announcements will be made.

There has never been a confirmation there would be a re release of TBC at all.

My guess is there won’t be - at least not this year. Seasonal Classic servers at most.

That was always my hope but the latest survey has given me doubt. If Blizzard’s answer to retaining Classic is to cycle us with fresh servers every few years, I’m not interested.

I want to continue playing Classic but I don’t want it to be Groundhog Day.

Yeah, that I cannot say. They won’t eliminate Classic entirely, but whether they wipe the servers every couple of years or let you stay there forever, I don’t know what that plan is.

Writing over Classic with TBC is not a thing though. People keep mentioning that and they just won’t do it that way. Classic and TBC will be on separate servers for sure.

Blizzcon. Almost a 100% guarantee at this point. People have been clamoring for it even before the first Classic server was set to open and the desire has only grown for many people.

mhmm. Maybe. I rather doubt it actually. We shall see.

I think it’s safe to assume you’ll get to keep your main characters in TBC. It’s how it was done originally and the progression on those characters are relevant to tbc (professions, rep, gear, gold, etc). I think the majority of players don’t want to level again on fresh servers. They will probably have a few fresh servers for players that want them, but I’m guessing all realms will get a tbc version.

I think the big question is how will blizzard maintain the vanilla classic servers. Do they make copies of all realms, make fresh classic servers for people to start again there, or make people that don’t want to opt-In for TBC transfer to a dedicated classic vanilla realm.
