I dont get why they changed it this way. Like if people didn’t want to be pvp’d why not play on normal servers? I dont get it.
If people want to pvp, why don’t they play in war mode?
cuz no one is in warmode now a days. But back then even PVP servers were the highest pop servers.
Warmode shouldn’t offer perks, so only the players that like world pvp would be there.
Yes to PvP servers!!
I think that’s fine idk why people would have a problem with it. Maybe if they are war mode enjoyers thinking there will be less players for them to face (and that is probably true tbf).
If people aren’t playing in war mode, what makes you think they’d move to a pvp server? Many people were probably just like me, and rolled on a pvp server in the early days thinking it sounded cool. Then by the time they realised how tedious it was had sunk too much time into their characters.
Nowadays is better than it used to be. I’ve thought a lot about this issue and have come to the conclusion that due to the cross-server and PvP/PvE modes where players don’t intersect, PvP players always have opponents, more so than in the past. At the same time, PvE players don’t suffer from PvP players. Essentially, we now have one huge PvP server and one huge PvE server.
Only those people who can’t handle PvP players and want to annoy, interfere with PvE players want to bring back PvP realms
I think of playing on a PVP server like living in a ‘mafia’ world. You can never hope to accomplish much because you are constantly looking behind you and hoping you don’t die? … I remember the old days of wow, accidentally clicking on something that ‘marks’ you and getting killed over and over… horde sitting on your corpse… (maybe alliance did that too? I don’t know)
NO THANKS… don’t want to live in that world.
Ahh yes. PvP servers. Where people had to constantly look over their shoulder, and when some ganker wanted to be a complete jerk, sitting there camping your corpse for the next few hours. Yes. That was such a fun time. Let’s NOT bring back that garbage. Do you ever tire of having terrible ideas all the time OP? Or is that just your natural state of being?
I’m not trying to put words in anyone’s mouth. Just pointing out the obvious. If the people formally on pvp servers still wanted to be doing pvp they would turn on warmode.
It’s just not the same. Not being able to turn it off is just a different dynamic, and more fun IMO. And I’m someone that’s terrible at PvP, so it’s not like I’d be out there camping folks.
I would at least roll an alt on a PvP server if they came back.
People only want PVP servers so they can force people in lopsided battles to stay getting ganked/farmed.
PVP servers always end up being 95% one faction, 5% the other.
We have open world PVP available. The issue is when people are in unfair fights they can opt out. That is what people are wanting to stop. The outnumbered guy has to be forced to stick around.
The PvP servers would most likely be pretty dead, then there’d be even more complaining than with War Mode.
It’s fine the way it is.
But who cares if a bunch of people who volunteer to play that way have a place to do it? Nobody’s asking for WM to go away. (Well nobody reasonable)
Because those people asking for a place to do it, arent participating in it NOW.
So its a little funny.
If the entire base of the question is “look, i really need really really really easy low risk pvp, please make a server for me”…thats gonna fall on a lot of deaf ears.
A new server for people that will occasionally play their alt there? Thats not a huge selling point or motivation for Blizzard.
Because it’s not what they’re asking for.
It’d be a new server for all the folks who do the stuff that make people turn wm off. Seems like a win to get them into their own place and a pretty low effort move for blizz. No real downside.
Yes. They are specifically asking for servers where they can outnumber their opponent and they cant opt out.
Why do they need their own place? Why do the people that specifically want low risk pvp where they can outnumber/out level someone, and that person cant opt out…why specifically do those people need their own place?
Quote it from someone. Not your interpretation of what someone said, but them actually saying that.
Because your interpretation isn’t the end-all-be-all and other people who want to do things you don’t like should have the opportunity. It’s a game.
Would one full on PvP server be enough for the folks who want that explicitly?
I’ve seen a number of arguments from RP’ers about the challenges they experience on war mode servers. And that stinks folks feel like they’ve lost a major game mechanic.
That being said, is there enough interest in this to fill even one full PvP server?
