I think I've hit a wall

For some reason now that I’ve hit 47 or so ( I can’t even remember), I feel like I’m starting to run into a little bit of warrior fatigue lately. I’ve never really been a fan of the zones like Feralas/Tanaris/Un’goro, it’s kind of always been a bit of a haze for me in the past. I feel like, as a warrior, I either absolutely shred through a target depending on Overpower procs/crits or the combat feels even slower than it did early on. Never feels like anything’s going on in-between. Maybe picking Arms was a mistake?

I don’t know. I’m tempted to just roll a warlock but I’ve already sunk this much time into getting Liwani here going. Is there any advice someone could give me to help pick up the momentum again? I find myself wanting to sign on more for crafting things more than leveling again.

A big investment I made around that level was dropping 30g on an Executioner’s Cleaver. I used that all the way to 60 and it completely revitalized my combat speed.

Play an alt for a while to break up the grind while you build up rested xp

Just PUG dungeons to 60. The 48-60 zones are pretty lame imo. Take a break, level fishing and cooking and make some food buff items for yourself. I took a break and just leveled professions for a few hours a day for about 4 days. Helped break up the grind, and you can make some money!

When I started to hit my walls (high 40s and high 50s), all I did was do dungeons. I went around the world and picked up AS MANY quests I could for every dungeon and then just ran them over and over again. After getting a couple levels my quests would be green/yellow and questing was fun again.

So far the replies are quite helpful. Maybe it is time I start looking for a replacement for the Whirlwind Axe, and maybe I should spend like 1-2 hours a day either doing professions or dabbling a bit in an alt. The issue then becomes orc-lock or zombie-lock but that’s a discussion for another day. Or I could just do Uldaman/Zul Farrak over and over and pray for sword fusion because I don’t care how bad it might be, the sword lore is cool as hell.

The bits of advice really did perk my mood up though. Thank you for that.

ZF is good XP/hour up to 52 or so. Just make sure you get a priest that actually dispels and cures disease in a timely manner. You can run the whole thing in about 40-50 minutes, including killing all the zombies and it usually nets 1/4-1/3 of a level of XP depending on your level. Once you get to 52 you can run ST to 55, then move on to BRD/Blackrock Spire for BiS farming and raid attunements.

At 45+ I think fury is better then arms for grinding

The main reason for arms spec is PvP from what I have read…

Bought the same axe !!!

Executioner’s Cleaver is a great weapon for that level and is usually not crazyily over priced. Can also pick up the Stonestlayer sword from Ulda and go sword spec to change things up or the Staff from the Maura quest (Resurgence Rod). Going fury can also be quite fun. Pick up the 1h sword (Thrash Blade) from the maura quest that can proc an extra swing. Super good for generating rage. Not to mention the fury-tank spec starts to become available round this level which is a viable way to lvl. So you could sword and board as a fury hybrid. GL my dude!

At 50ish you can run mauradon and get gatorbite axe…

Do your alt. Let him marinate for a while in the rested XP. When he has a level and a half go back and fill up the bar. Then go back to your alt again. I’ve been doing that with my Mage and Warrior and it works out well.

Once you get past late 40s it gets easier again. Just push through it. Run some maraudon or Sunken Temple to mix it up a bit.

This is all good advice. For warriors the weapon makes the biggest impact. And iirc at 50 you can do the mighty ucha in ungoro which gets you beastslayer two handed axe for Arms. Fantastic weapon vs all the beasts you’ll encounter!

I think I got Gatorbite at 48, and regretted waiting that late to run Mara. It seemed like 46 would have been fine, and I didn’t like ZF much.

Lol I have memories of tanking princess back in the day. Trying to wait till 50 before I attempt. Could probably do it now, but im all scared of resists/misses etc on her ugly annoying !@#

I hit a wall somewhere too while leveling. I think when I was on stage where I need a freakin level 40 mount. Farming gold in Classic is a SNOOZEFEST activity. It always get me sleepy to kill the same mobs for 99999 times just to get gold.

When it happens, I switch to BFA, do a M+10. It brings out all adrenaline to my blood waking me up. Then I go back to Classic’s SNOOZEFEST activities.

I was a Naxx40 raider in vanilla. I know this. I hate grinding in vanilla and I still hate grinding in classic. I am just persistent.

roll an alt, always fun trying new stuff

The Resrgance Rod has higher weapon damage than Gatorbite, and comes from the quest so could be done earlier in level. The highest dmg weapon up to 49 is the Soulkeeper Staff. Highest 2h axe is Exe cleaver due to AP scaling, but Kang would could have a 1 or 2 dmg difference on top end depending on AP scaling. Highest dmg sword up to 49 will be Stoneslayer from Ulda.

Just recommending a free option that is easy to get and also goes well with orc racial
