I think I just had an epiphany, how to get rid of grieving in pvp

Don’t know if they could do it but I just had a crazy idea to get rid of being able to kill an opposing faction player when they are flagged for pvp in any server.

Have a toggle that only shows they are flagged for pvp if the opposite player is with in their level bracket.

The span can be figured out. Would say only at the 3 level difference since hit chance falls off a cliff after 3 anyway.

Edit : this to me would be a better option than the way it is set up since BFA which I actually liked

I.e. Flagged level 24(whatever faction) opposite faction 21-27 can see the 24 flagged. A 28 would just see a normal person walking around.

your going to kill that 1 intern working on this

Caedite eos. Novit enim Dominus qui sunt eius.

Kill them all; let God sort it out later.

An even better idea that’s already available is the ability to toggle PvP on & off, which you can do on PvE servers.

No, griefing is part of world pvp in classic. The second you enter a neutral zone, you open yourself up to pvp no matter what level. If you don’t want to deal with pvp just because it’s unfair, then play on a pve server.

carebears had the same “epiphany” back in 2005.

The reason why grieving is allowed in pre warmode wow.

Is because they never figured out a way to stop it.

That’s it.

They had to bend to the will of the psychopath and say it was ok.

This would be the way they can finally say " player vs player actually means A player vs A player". And not allow grieving.(Besides when it’s a group grieving a single)

Just go to a PvE server. Instead of trying to change PvP servers because you don’t like them, take your free transfer, leave to a PvE server, and just flag yourself in the open world when you want to pvp.

You needed an epiphany for this?

Take your server transfer.

Ascension wow already did this.

blizzard stole runes from them so this may actually happen (the pvp damage nerf is a ascension wow thing too)

Eh. It wouldn’t stop squad ganking, corpse camping, mid-combat ganking, or twinking, all of which would still lead to griefing.

Oooo. Another one of those. Durrrrrr don’t roll on a pvp server responses.

Like I told the last one on a different forum post.

Jokes on you. I’m not on a pvp server.

Any human that thinks player vs player is supposed to be a level 50 that camps level 10s all day. Probably likes to torture neighborhood cats for enjoyment too.

he’ll have to write an if-elseif-else function.

Then why do you care about what happens on them? Call your guildies, ask for help in general, get on your main, or go touch grass for an hour. Blizzard pretty clearly states they don’t view camping or whatever else people view as “griefing” as against TOS. You’re trying to fix a non-issue because you have a personal issue with it.

Or, or hear me out.

So we take these PVP servers right, so people can PVP as much as they want. We give them multiple layers to flee to if they get camped.

But also, now this is the crazy part. We have PVP servers but with only one P and we throw something wacky like an E in there. So like an EVP, or perhaps a PVE server where people don’t have to deal with unfair situations and can /pvp to toggle it on or off.

This is like trying to play on a PVE server and demand they change mobs to only be damaged by the hours of 2pm and 6pm server time.

This kind of thing can never be implemented, what would stop someone from making a healer 3 level bellow the max level cap and just healing their own faction without anyone being able to stop you? whatever level you set it at, people will just push the limits of twinking for whatever level the cutoff ends up being on.

So warmode with even more layers to avoid high levels kill people lower.

Pass on warmode, it ruined retail world PVP and it’d ruin classic world PVP

The amount of mental gymnastics people go through to justify the level of griefing in SOD on PVP servers is just truly astonishing. I played on a server in classic that was my faction favored where we camped their FPs because they made the horrible choice of delaying honor in the release and they made they same mistake but even worse in SOD by funneling players all into certain areas pre-60.

They also gave us promises of faction balance due to locking which doesn’t account for bots or layers which every server has issues with. I was on a pvp server and it just became people trying to find the layer where it was their faction and not the other to get anything done. PVP server players in general hate PVP when it messes with their ability to do anything in game but love it when they can use their time in game other than raid logging to just make people rage because there isn’t anything else to do really.

No one could have predicted that Blizzard would mess up with incursions, nerf STV honor, make going to BGs useless as an honor farm either. Or that they would make SOD a mess of a burse fest. This level of degeneracy is unseen in the game and it’s just mistake after mistake and the only people that try to justify it are the sad losers that want to sit up all night killing lowbies.

nope you leave my hillsbrad farm fields alone mudhutter. there are pve servers if you don’t like it.

There is another way to deal with people camping lowbies… (starts humming)

Please don’t be deceived by my current situation
As unlikely as it seems, I’m a PvP sensation
A legend in my time, not a legend in my mind
So if it’s all the same don’t make me get my main
