I think I hate Concoction: Kiss of Death

So already the stun mechanic if you don’t jump is so bad that i got a WeakAura for it. Fixed a lot of issues I had with it. But I just had something happen to me…

I was flying over to do a world quest when I spotted a rare and decided to kill it. No biggie, I land, pop the trinket and a bunch of cooldowns, shove the thing into the meat grinder my character turned into, mount back up and fly away. But halfway to the world quest, my weakaura tells me to jump. But I can’t. I’m flying. So I tell myself “It’ll just stun me and I’ll float down.”

Nope. When it stunned me, I dropped right out of the sky, still mounted, and fell to my death.

Do not take this trinket. It is awful.

I got the 616 version from the vault and I already want to replace it.

i won’t use certain trinkets even if they are bis because of how they work. like the egg from ovinax, too much to micromanage, i’d rather use mad queens mandate.

I strongly recommend the WeakAura for it. It’s called Kiss of Death Buff Tracker. Made it much more manageable.

Pretty much the dumbest trinket gimmick ever after the nerf a few weeks ago.

it’s funny because I got this trinket early on, before they changed it. Used to be you could click it again to turn it off instead of jumping. But that came with the problem that if you accidentally double clicked or misclicked again somehow, you just turned it on/off immediately and put it on cooldown. The trinket is infuriating, but I love it for being infuriating.

I wasn’t even aware it had been changed. Boy, this expansion sure has some terrible trinkets, doesn’t it? Like the one which has an actual cast time to turn you into an ascended nerubian.

Isn’t that one actually good though?

It might be “good” in the sense that it sims better. It’s still a bad trinket because that cast time is awful.

If you cast it before the pull in raid it’s not too bad.

Somebody never played with Font of Power.

For real though, it’s a setup trinket. It’s good in the sense that it’s a different option. Having a cast time for the buff is not innately awful, because it by design compensates for having that cast time. You control exactly when you get it and the buff’s value can be aligned to your cooldowns.

I agree that cast time on a trinket never feels good, especially if you’re playing a melee class with no cast times to begin with. So I’m not a huge fan of that nerubian trinket either, though I do feel like a superhero on my alts who have it when I use it and all my stats are buffed to heck and back

Yeah if a trinket requires I watch a buff or download a WA, the trinket gets vendored, BiS or not.

Yeah, lesson learned on that one. Never again.
