Yeah.
I think that Blizzard should stop letting certain pervasive trolls keep posting.
But here you are, still. Always.
I’m all for not listening to some sensitives elitists to make the game more casual friendly…
… But at the same time I have a thing, and so do the devs, for not listening to “certain people” on the forums.
Which is to say, most of them. If not, all.
I mean, Shadowlands is practically a listen to people expansion
Kinda. If Blizzard listened to the community a bit more, the faction barrier for dungeons and raids wouldn’t be here.
That, and titan forging would be gone.
And the Alliance would actually get their victory day.
THat’s the thing they have been listening. The whole expansion is practically people designed.
I don’t understand why so many casual players have this misconception that the direction WoW has gone in is the fault of “elitist hardcore players”.
Like, watch a Limit Maximum video for literally ten seconds and you’ll see that NOBODY wanted the game to go in the direction it’s gone and nobody from the hardcore camp ever asked for the things we’ve gotten.
Heck, THDLock and a lot of hardcore were the main ones making the push for removing covenant restrictions before the expac even came out, a change that unequivocally affects the vast majority of the playerbase positively.
it wasnt the hardcore players that were saying anything. :V
Most of them don’t have the misconception in the first place. Not about the elitists. What they have is misconceptions about gaming content.
Also, “elitist” and “hardcore” players are separate entities. You can be a hardcore player about the questlines given by each zone throughout the game. Elitists tend more toward mastering their class and running so many Mythics and Raids, or any other difficult content. Especially in guilds.
Having said that, you often wouldn’t find an elitist running casual content such as quests. Unless they decide to do questlines or campaigns as well, they do it to master their class. Not for the lore.
WoW is an MMORPG. RPGS aren’t looked too fondly by casual gamers because they can get complicated. When you have a teenager (WoW is Rated T btw) not understanding the mechanics, they leave without any criticism – mostly because of boredom. Petty or not.
Technically speaking, have you seen how many casual players decided to pick up Fortnite or Minecraft? That is because the gameplay is simple and easy.
I’m going to be honest, and fair,it is us. Every since I started coming to Gd I have heard people here complain about there should be no flying and other suggestions to blizzard .Well they listened didn’t they? All the suggestions were looked at and used for either for the agendas some folk wanted for their purposes not for the good of the game and respect for others.
And here we are now, people left because of the restriction were too hard. Whose fault is it? The peoples and the company that listened for their own purpose.
In essence, we have a pool full of sharks.
How so?
We still had flying timegated in a similar amount of time to Pathfinder.
We still have crap grinds. Sure it’s not called Artifact Power, but what’s the difference between completing a weekly for a large amount of AP and completing your renown for empowered soulbinds?
We still have a crap story with Sylvanas.
Valor is nothing like it was before, and wasn’t even there at launch for SL.
But because it had Arthas for a total of 1.5 minutes in a pre-release cutscene they listened?
I’m willing to put down money on the faction barrier being erased in the future. The only reason I think it’s not gone yet is because the faction divide is a fundamental part of the original bedrock for the game. So removing it requires touching a lot of very old and very far-reaching code. So it’s a bit of a process that can’t be done in a single patch or even a single expansion.
I’m fairly confident from some of their interview responses though that it’s actively being worked on.
Which left a long time ago ever since the Alliance and Horde worked together to fight the Arthas, the Lich King.
XD
From a story perspective yes. But I was thinking more along the lines of the software. ![]()
Yeah because people never designed all the previous expansions , robots did .
Even if some of the things put in were based off of player thoughts , they are 9 times out of ten not actually what the players asked for and have been twisted by the touch of the monkey’s paw.
Except it feels more like the ideas all travel through a game of “telephone” before getting to them.
Don’t care who’s fault, would like to play the game without several dozen systems that are just chores. Would like to feel powerful Outside instances, (old school without the scaling to gear) without having to dedicate several hours a day to instanced RNG. If I want to pvp then i will chase gear for that, if i want to raid then chase gear for that, no life mythics gear for that. Don’t feel like i should have to chase those things to just play in the open world without it being such a punishing experience based on ilvl and mobs that scale to ilvl.
And content that isn’t just instanced runs, actual content in the world to do and not more tedious systems and not some ogri’la daily for a 10 minute day in wow.
And also, stop making these new zones so confusing to traverse, even with flying they are turning into puzzles just to get from point a to point b.
Elites tend more to mastering their class and running so many mythics etcetera and don’t care what casuals do and are the people that make up the guides and sim the different info tkike talent builds that help us with our toons
Elitist just think they are elite and think that anyone that doesn’t play like them is a scrub and deserves nothing .
I do believe you’re right the AI is used in the game ,normally, certain moves would be the same in their abilities ,well, last night proved it to me that is not the case anymore they are learning to avoid your moves.
And with flying they added other flying critters for aggro.
