I still don't understand what's supposed to be going on in Deephaul Ravine

At Blizzcon they said it would be the Alliance and Horde fighting over resources. That made sense. War is expensive and this fight against the Nerubians is probably costing the Alliance and Horde a pretty penny. Plundering some resources while in Khaz Algar would be a great way to offset those costs. But the Alliance and Horde have never been known to be good at sharing, especially not with each other, so we’re going to fight over it. The Alliance and Horde have skirmished in peacetime before. Why would this be any different?

That would have been nice and simple. So why isn’t it what we got?

Instead we got this weird thing where Ruffious and Uzjax are fighting over these resources for… reasons? And the Alliance and Horde are now involved for… reasons?

Why are we here? Why are we killing each other? What do we gain from this? I don’t understand.

Not once. Not a single time in the 2 minutes where the battleground was talked about, was a fight between them, ever mentioned.

The Ringing Deeps are full of natural resources that very sort of thing the Alliance and Horde would be likely to skirmish over.

But he doesn’t say that is what the BG would be about.

He gives it as a background as to why the BG is in the Ringing Deeps.

There could be any number of skirmishes, with lots of different groups.

Which lends to it being an 8v8 SRBG, since it’s entirely cross faction.

If this isn’t possible, then it should never be released as a SRBG. And I really want it in the SRBG pool.

The faction divide is almost gone. Let it go. It’ll be better for the game without it.

Because it seems to be between Ruffius and Uzjax who as far as we know aren’t affiliated with the Alliance or Horde. It would make sense if they said we were contracting them or something but that doesn’t appear to be the case.

This bg has
Two old mechs:

You bring the item at the center to a furnace-look-alike thing on your base side to earn points like a flag cap
You control carts that will give you points per second plus another amount of points when they are capped. Just like the mines BG.

New mech this bg has:
You can use carts on the hill to tranverse the map quickly to the other side to prevent a cap or attack from behind.

Ruffius was liberated from the jailor by baine bloodhoof and his inclusive blind black friend - he then swore to repay the horde for this service by dropping 100 honor in a later expac. However Uzjax was camped by baine when he tried to do his dailies and reached out to his then friend Ruffius asking for help. When Ruffius told him to turn off warmode Uzjax swore vengeance for this betrayal by stopping his mine carts and joined the alliance through his mechagnome contacts
