So I am looking at my Weathered Undermine Crests, and the “season maximum” is already capped at 90/90. What does that mean?
I can’t earn anymore for the season, week, or what?

It goes up as the Season progresses.
But am I capped for the week then?
Until tomorrow, yes.
Yes.
Its per week.
Its to prevent degenerate behavior.
The one cap that has been absolutely silly is valorstones. Literally no reason since crests tend to be the main limiter.
It’s a time gated cap in a game with a time based subscription.
lmao.
Thank you! Last question: does the cap also prevent me from converting Carved into Weathered?
The cap increases each week. For example, tomorrow it will increase by 90 and the cap will be 180 for the lower two crest types and 90 for the higher two crest types. Each week after that, they will all increase by 90.
Currently it’s for week, it increases as it progresses. Since reset hasn’t occurred yet it’s 90 now but increases to 180, the week after that another 90 and so on.
If S1 is anything to go off the cap will eventually be removed and you’ll be able to grind like crazy.
I believe the conversation method ignores any caps.
So you should be able to farm and convert to your hearts content if you are looking to upgrade to better crests.
This is something I have never been able to wrap my head around. I can’t do anything else with Valorstones. I can’t buy anything with Valorstones. So why is there a cap?
Not only why is there a cap.
But on top of it, you can’t trade it in any measure, even if it was with a loss, to your other characters.
Well, yeah… that’s kinda why I said:
The whole thing is degenerate, what’s so special about these?
honestly i never understood why blizz cared if players degened over wow
Because if they didn’t people would come in arguing the opposite thing you are, so in the end neither matters lol
This.
They already implement PLENTY of addictive seeking behaviors in their game. Degenerate RNG for loot for example. I just would love to see someday the data that backs up the idea that time-gating and drip feeding players, actually results in more monthly active users. I don’t buy the correlation.
Crests make sense since they are gated by content. Stones are super trivial. There is no reason they should have a cap and not be boa. Or just flat remove them and make it crests only.
They feel completely redundant.
If you convert, it DOES count toward the cap for the higher-level crests that you convert them to. You can’t use the conversion system to cheat or supplement the cap.
