I specifically remember this

So this is once again one of the little ‘fun’ things I remember about the “great” WoW Forums.
For years when people suggested darker skin tones or perhaps a human subfaction that would support darker humans in the lore it was always met with
“BUT HUMANS ARE FROM VRYKUL WHICH ARE FAN SKINNED PLUS THIS IS A FANASTY SETTING GET OVER IT!” This was a discussion for years. Well much less of a discussion and more of a someone asks and it’s a thread bombed by epic vrykul lore.

Now suddenly it’s ok because of a changing political world and because the lore writers aren’t going to say no to inclusion anymore.

This also goes back to the forums saying demon hunters would NEVER be a class because warlocks are already “too similar” as if they line ever made any sense, but it was constantly posted as upvote bait and would derail threads or another personal favorite of mine the classic “wall of no”.

I just want to brag about being on the controversial side of history of things that eventually got added to the game.

That’s all you needed to say, really.

Ummm… okay. Cool. This is the most “Sunday” I’ve seen GD in weeks.

It was a stupid defense back then, and its a stupid defense now. Wanna know why?

Vykrul were robots cursed by a magic squid. Any genetic argument is instantly dismissed by that fact alone.

Also am I the only one who consistently sees Vrykul as much darker skinned than most Humans? They’re at least very tan by default.

They are basically vikings, it makes sense they’d have darker skin from being in the sun a lot. Shirtless.

Also yea, your post is right social culture changes. Welcome to reality, where it was only 56 years ago the US still segregated black people.

Time goes on and the social climate changes, bravo for making a forum post about it.
